We’ve seen a surge of local designers rising in social media, selling out in local stores, and gracing the runways of the international fashion scene. The frustration in Saudi fashion lies with a recent phenomenon we’d like to call “daddy labels,” where designers launch lines out of their own pockets

(or their family’s) without putting in the elbow grease. Fashion enthusiasts know that the road to your own line requires learning your craft, experimenting with your style, showcasing your creativity, apprenticeship and finally investing in your own label. If you’re cutting corners, you’re missing out on what is arguably the best part of fashion: experimentation. To encourage taking the right track, we decided to highlight Saudis who are “doing it right.”
