I've been wanting to try cheap food joints in bat-ha for a while. My first experience was at a Filipino restaurant called Quiapo that was recommended by a friend of mine. It's a simple enough do-it-yourself assembly line cafeteria; you first get a small bowl of rice and then you get to choose from the vast varieties on display all served in small plates. We got a mix of almost everything, mainly chicken adobo and meat curry as well as fish but

missed the sweet and sour chicken as unfortunately for us they were out of that. I also noticed while eating they serve other orders out of the assembly line like hot pot meat/ veggie stew that I have always wanted but never tried. They also serve sioapo, which is a white bun stuffed with either chicken or meat and dipped into a special kind of sauce. And they have a decent halo halo station with milkshake cups! And ube cakes! (Ube is a
magical purple colored potato/yam that is used for desserts in the Philippines). Overall the food was below average but we enjoyed the atmosphere and the welcoming service. Salamanca po my kabayans.
