Mystery Diner

AlMajles AlKhaleeji By Faris Al Yahya

The trend of traditional Saudi food places continues, and so far they’re still disappointing me with their quality. This place is called AlMajles AlKhaleeji, and it was a bad experience for me even after I gave them another chance. We enter the place and there’s no one to seat us even though it’s empty. The service is poor. And the important part, the food, was mediocre at best.

Dactylifera is se t to be one of the stores Ri yadhis can be heading to on Takhassussi St reet. It’s is a combina tion of quality dates, chocolat es, specialty confectionerie s and delicious ice creams that ar e sure to satisfy your sweet toot h.

We had “nawashef,” a platter comprised of cheese, jam, olives, honey and halawa taheeniah.

Then arrives the heavy hitters, foul julaba, thinly sliced flash-fried liver, mugalgal (pan fried meat) and fried eggs. I’d asked for the eggs to be cooked over easy but they served it to me extra crispy well done.

And once you tell them to return your order so they can properly cook it they don’t get you. The egg struggle is real, folks. The only bread they have is tamees and it might be the saddest tamees I ever had. Below average food and less than welcoming service. You can find yourself tons of better places with even less the price. Will not come here again, add it to your blacklist. DESTINATIONRYD.COM 53
