YOU’RE IN FOR A RIDE! July is rolling in nicely, we’re halfway through the Holy Month and the festive lights are starting to line the streets signaling the coming of Eid Al Fitr. For this issue of Destination Riyadh, we decided to put together a special edition that celebrates and gives insight into the men of the city. A decision that made most of the gents in our office jump out of their seats and left the rest of us intrigued. As we were brainstorming, we found ourselves asking, “What do men want?” Someone yelled “cars!” from the back of the room followed by a dozen yes’s. Sure enough, a good portion of these pages have been crafted to make the eyes of petrol heads twinkle. For your reading pleasure, we tracked down Talal Al Onzi, the gentleman and automotive aficionado behind the first exotic car dealership in Saudi Arabia. We’ve also invited the Mustang Club for a sit down to get your engines all revved up. Beyond testosterone driven clichés, being a man is circumstantial but being a gentleman in this day and age, now that’s something. And so our quest took an interesting turn, we burned the midnight oil to put together a primer on how to be a “Riyadhi Gentleman.” From matters of manly manners, building your dapper closet and man caves to finding the best football café hideaways; this issue has got the men covered. Oh but we’re far from over. July is still filled to the brim with relevant articles for everyone. Consider your inner carnivore indulged with a meaty take on steak and grills. We’ve got beauty and style low downs for our Riyadhi women too. Destination Riyadh is a magazine that is made for you by you. We are able to churn one issue after another because of the wonderful Riyadhis setting up shop in the city, driving change in the community and simply making Riyadh a pretty awesome place to live.
