SIXTEEN TO NINE MONTHS BEFORE
Start a wedding folder. Either on your computer or as a binder.
Decide on an overall budget.
Determine how much you are able to spend, and who will pay for what.
Decide on the type of wedding.
Whether you want a small, intimate at-home wedding, a destination wedding, or an elaborate weddinghall function.
Research venue, photo/ videographers, bands, florists and caterers.
EIGHT TO SIX
MONTHS BEFORE
Book a venue. Announce wedding date. Shop for wedding essentials. Meet caterers and hire a catering service. Hire a photographer and a videographer. Make reservations at a hotel if you have out-of-town guests.
Send out wedding invites
Launch wedding website and send out e-invites (appycouple.com provides a lovely service as well a registry you can share with your guests).
Wedding registry
Inform guests of your wedding registry on Amazon.com and certain places in town.
Start planning the honeymoon. Compose a day-of timeline
Schedule the event and slot in each component (the zaffa, first dance, photos on kosha, cake, etc).
Blood test and marriage license.
FIVE TO THREE
MONTHS BEFORE Finalize guest list.
Order wedding cake. Finalize dress fittings. Formal wedding portraits. Confirm hotel arrangements.
