CELEBRATING HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

Mauro M. Wolfe Duane Morris LLP What does it mean to be a part of the fastest growing minority in the U.S.? I am excited about the Hispanic talent we have in America. I am thrilled about the future and about the potential of the Hispanic community to make a major contribution to what makes America so great. I have met with Associate Justice Sonya Sotomayor and felt personally the transformative power of having a Hispanic reach the upper echelons of our society. I cofounded the Hispanic Lawyers Society of New York, which is comprised of nearly one hundred of the top senior Hispanic lawyers in law firms and corporate America in the New York metro area. We are all working hard to ensure that we create a legacy of opportunity for our young people. Education is one of the keys.

HEADQUARTERS:

How has your heritage been beneficial or helpful in your career and/or business relationships? My family immigrated from Panama when I was five. I think that experience and my successes have made me an eternal optimist. To think that a poor boy from Panama can come to the United States, attend public schools, and rise to become a federal prosecutor and eventually a partner of a Global 100 law firm is really what the American dream is all about. I am grateful to this country for the opportunity. I think it has made me hungry to achieve, humble to respect those less fortunate than myself, and eager to teach and share my experience with young Hispanic students.
