Core Structures
Structure is a core element, and is interpreted in columns, planes and domes. Designers may utilise this interpretation to reinforce ideas and effects. Pillars, wall surfaces, roofs and beams become concepts of repetition and randomness, simplicity and complexity.
Structure may be applied to define space, create units, articulate flow and movement, and to develop composition and modulation. In this way design becomes inextricably linked to the very elements which give architecture its quality and excitement.
When core structure is given voice, it expresses meaning and richness, often becoming the most significant of all the architectural elements in the building. This collection is inspired by the core structure of architectural design.
