“I develop myself through my work and through all of the experiences in my life. Like a tree with rings that bear marks of its growth, I am a creative work in progress and my art is the expression of all about relationships between people. I like to the viewer curious. The female sculptures are an homage to women. My intension is to sculpt a portrayal of the women, to show positive attribute and being strong, step up, and encourage in only a part of the story. PETRONELLA VAN DEN BERG Born in the Netherlands,1958, Petronella G.W. Van den Berg married in 1979, but tragedy struck in the early 80s when her husband passed away. This terrible event precipitated a re-examination of her life, whereupon she left her professional career to devote herself to her artistic talent, attending the Academy of the Arts in Zutphen for 5 years. In 2002, Petronella immigrated to Canada, where she now lives with her second husband in Naramata, British Columbia. Once settled in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, she began sculpting and painting in earnest. She has been a full time, contemporary acrylic and sculpture artist ever since. Her works are in the homes of private collectors throughout North America and Europe.
