Thoroughly invested in his career, Bob's work ethic was honed by years of hard work and a stringent adherence to details. At the tender age of eight, he was introduced to the world of construction by his beloved uncle and mentor who nurtured him through each phase of building a home. By the time Bob was a teenager, he knew more about the ins and outs of the job site than guys twice his age. “My uncle never treated me any different from the other guys on the site and excuses were never tolerated. If anything, he would single me out and hold me accountable while letting others slide by.”

From an early age, Bob's uncle instilled in him problem-solving skills, pride in his accomplishments, and a strong belief in himself. “He was always quizzing me so that I would think things through and stay one step ahead. He would point out someone's work and ask, 'Bobby, how would you do that differently?' I was always taught to think for myself.” Integrity in everything you do was firmly established in Bob throughout his youth. It is a creed he continues to live by. Though Bob's family came from meager beginnings, failure was never an option. “My uncle told me more than once that the only difference between success and failure is that a successful person never quits.”
Through every aspect of his hands-on training, Bob was taught that when all was said and done, looking out for the client's best interest was the ultimate goal. With vivid memories of strict discipline and loving instruction under his uncle's tutelage, he often speaks about how much his uncle taught him over the years. “I learned early-on that it was either done right or it wasn't – there's no middle ground.” He applies that philosophy to all aspects of construction and implements those hardlearned lessons in whatever task he sets out to accomplish.

Regardless of how tough his uncle was on him, Bob has the utmost respect for who his uncle was and what he stood for. “He had real ingenuity, and always considered ways of doing things more cost effectively or coming up with a solution that no one thought of. There isn't anything about construction that he didn't teach me. Don't get me wrong, there's always something more to learn. Because I am so focused and thorough on all the phases of a project, it makes me well equipped to handle any situation that might arise. My team and crews tease me all the time about being overly focused on every little detail but I firmly believe it’s each and every stroke of the brush that makes the masterpiece so special in the end.” Whether he's building a 10,000-square-foot luxury home on a mountain's rocky slope or a modest beachside bungalow, trust is the common thread intertwined throughout Bob’s projects. “It's imperative that the client trusts me. There are many nights when I lay awake thinking of how to do each project better and more cost effective.” Bob has old-fashioned values that appear to be long forgotten in the today's construction processes. He often feels out of place in a world of quick fixes and less than ideal work. “Quality home building is a lost art. There are many things I do for my clients that aren't part of the original plans.”

Driven by perfection, he prefers rough-hewn and handcrafted to something manufactured and right off the shelf. Finding just the right 100year-old barn lumber to create a one-of-a-kind mantle brings out the artisan in Bob. Spending hours scavenging through area shops in search of a particular piece of hardware or perfectly aged wood for a custom bar top is what Bob considers time well spent. “I never use something fake or plastic when I can create something truly authentic for my client. It must have meaning and purpose or I haven't done my job.”
Meeting Bob for the first time, you can tell he's the real deal. Ruggedly handsome and completely confident in everything he does. He’s a self-proclaimed workaholic and perfectionism is evident in his work. Bob is very confident in his plans and ideas, but is always opened minded and more than willing to listen to his clients’ ideas, dreams and wishes and incorporate them into the plans. “I never forget whose home or project it is.” “Sometimes people think my blunt enthusiasm and micro-managing every phase of a project hinders my willingness to be a team player but nothing could be farther from the truth. I just don't like for the client to get less than what they’re paying for or deserve. Their needs, wants and desires matter to me.
