The story follows Ugyen (Sherab Dorji), a schoolteacher with dreams of being a musician, as he is sent to teach in the remote town of Lunana in northern Bhutan. Ugyen finds himself cut off from the modern world and learns to appreciate what is around him. This is Bhutan’s first Oscarnominated film.
