Unequivocally and unambiguously we must affirm the fundamental dignity of the unborn, the infirm, the disabled and the elderly. A respect for life encompasses all those who through poverty, famine or war do not have the essentials of life; it implies a disavowal of the relentless pursuit of violence through armed aggression, assault or attack. As we have abandoned Judaeo-Christian belief in the sanctity of life, succumbed to the modern heresy of choice, and abased ourselves to the white-coated shamans of science, a respect for life has ceased to be a paramount consideration.
