Excitement at Fun Valley Montezuma, Iowa - August 11 By Missi Thede

aturday, August 11th was a beautiful day at Fun Valley, with some awesome updates to the track. Fun Valley added over 100 loads of black dirt to the track for improvements that made for great racing throughout the day. This added 6-12 inches of new top soil across the entire track and it was in the best condition it has ever been. The 250C class first moto had #270 Nicholas Tracy take the win with Dillon Nail second, Stone Schildroth third and Justin Ross fourth. With a turn of events second moto Ross took first placing Tracy in second. Drew Peterson with a ninth place finish first moto happily finished third ahead of Nail. Overall kept Tracy in first, Ross second, Nail third and Schildroth fourth. Quad A and Quad A Production stayed consistent with #4 Adam Jaspering taking the overall win in both classes with John Benda second and Kyle Burnham third in Quad A, while swapping overalls in the Production class. In the 50Sr class Gage Steburg took the overall win with consistent finishes ahead of Isaac Moyle, Ronnie Orres, and Ethan McMahon. With a fifteen rider gate of 85Jr racers, Dylan Smith locked in the overall. Open C had an exciting second moto of trying to guess who was going to take the overall finishes for the day. Justin Ross set the pace for the rest of the riders by taking the overall win after sweeping both motos. First moto Nicholas Tracy took second with Brandon Teeple in third and Cody Barnes fourth. For the second moto Zakary Kraft finished second, coming back from a sixth place finish first moto and took second overall. Stone Schildroth finished third. Barnes finished fourth again for the second moto but gladly took third for the overall for the day. With Sunday’s event ending after the first moto due to rain, 36 CYCLE USA, September 2012
