his Sunday the fifth of August marked the eighth round of the Nuclear Series at Motosports Park in Byron, Illinois. We had some amazing weather and everyone was just getting back from Loretta’s, there was a great turnout as always! Lining up early was 85Jr, and right off the line Eddie Norred took the holeshot trailed by Lucas Filips, Kaleb Fulscher and the rest of the young speed demons. Right away Noah Taylor came around the outside to take over third from Fulscher. Coming down the hill Talyor found his way around Filips to take over second to set the final order for the top three as it held to the end. After a little juggling, the second moto finished with the same top three riders. 85Sr was up next as Jesse Aitchison took the holeshot. Karson Kokotan was right on Aitchison’s heels trying to find a line around, meanwhile behind them Joren Walthers took third going up the hill to the back of the track. Chase Boykin was now in fourth. After two laps of fighting Kokotan got by Aitchison through the sand section, which has been transformed into a rhythm section from the whoops it was earlier in the season. Kokotan was able to hold onto the lead while Aitchison took second and Taiga Judd got around Walthers on the last lap to grab third. In the second moto Kokotan won again taking the overall, Judd came in second for second overall and Walthers finished third. 250A delivered some great action as always. Joseph Dalzell took the lead off the line in the first moto as Vaughn Mays and Zach

Coons were already fighting to move up. Coons was going back and forth with Mays the entire race, trying to get in front of him. Coming down the hill on the white flag he made his way into second and held it to the checkered flag. In the second moto Dazell took another win to lock up the overall. Coons once again finished second as Daniel Sanders beat out Mays for third, taking third overall as well (43). The biggest gate I have seen at Byron in a while was Open C. Thirty-four riders lined up, packing every gate for one crazy start.

The gates dropped and they all flooded into the first turn, bar to bar. Billy Mccauley got out in front of the mob to take the holeshot with Paxton Kerber and Bryce Olson making the most of the clear track. Jake Peterson wasn’t impressed and quickly moved made up a lot of ground, moving all the way into second place. Coming down the hill to the finish line Peterson and Kerber had gotten around Mccauley. Coming through the straight Kerber took the inside and got by Peterson to take the lead and was able to hold on for the remaining laps to cross the line for the win. Peterson took second and Mccauley held on for
