Mischler and Kau got past Laubmeier on lap two as they battled for position. Laubmeier seemed to be off his pace until he was able to capitalize on Kau having a problem on lap six that added almost five minutes to his lap. A re-energized Laubmeier chased down Mischler and by the end of lap seven he had re-taken third where he stayed to the finish. Friebel, “The day went pretty good. Once we got off the moto track I was sitting in second. Bobby Kau and Mischler got by me but then they slowed down because of Mat’s dust and I was able to get back in front of them. I just tried to ride smart and put my head down to put on a bit of a gap. I was just trying not to make any mistakes. We have run in the corn like that a couple of times but I was surprised it was pretty narrow, they didn’t knock as many rows down as usual. In the back section there was one tree root that sticks in my mind. It got dug out pretty bad and a lot of guys really had problems there, but otherwise it was a pretty fun track, a little faster than I like, but it was good. I’d like to thank Moose Racing, FMF, GPR, Vesra,

IMS, G2, Bell-Ray, Husky, Klim Helmets, UFO Plastics, Enduro Engineering, and Keytime Motorsports that I ride out of all the time.” The course layout by Madison Cycle Club had a diversity that all the riders enjoyed. Thanks to everyone that came out to race and especially a huge thanks to Brian Terry for cutting in the course.
