ew Hartford kicked off a great weekend of racing with beautiful sunny weather. The track had received the perfect amount of rain on Friday thanks to Mother Nature, and everyone was in for one of those wonderful double headers. First moto in the 85Jr class started with twelve riders coming off the gate. #231 Ruger Brown took the holeshot with #257 Jacob Dakovich right behind him as Patrick Murphy and Maliq McCaleb followed right on their rear fenders. McCaleb moved up to third and Paxton Jobe slid into fourth by midmoto. It didn’t last for Jobe as he was dropped back a couple spots when Murphy and Brady Hagenstein pushed forward. Finishing off the first moto was Brown, Dakovich, McCaleb, Murphy and Hagenstein. The second moto action had Brown and Dakovich rounding the start corner side by side, both determined to take the second moto win. Murphy and McCaleb were in close pursuit. Brown pulled ahead for the lead with McCaleb in third. McCaleb then moved in on Dakovich and took the second spot. Brown finished first, McCaleb second and Dakovich third with the overall reigning the same. Excitement in the 14-24B/C class had #82 Curt Pfalzgraf with the holeshot followed by #238 Jared Barnes, #912 Marissa Busby

and #6 Kevin Goette in a full fledged war on positioning. Busby and Goette flew side by side over the table tops after the start as Goette readied his move on her. Barnes moved to the outside of Pfalzgraf for the lead while Goette pushed forward in third with his sites on Pfalzgraf. In the next lap Goette grabbed the second spot with Pfalzgraf falling back. Through the last lap it was down to the wire as Goette and Barnes were side by side. Barnes got hung on the inside corner right before the finish line taking him down, giving Goette the win. Barnes saved his second place finish before Busby get by. Second moto had a very tight first lap as Barnes led with Pfalzgraf and Goette following. Goette moved into second as Busby held fourth. Barnes secured second moto win plus the overall for the day with Goette taking second, Busby third overall and Pfalzgraf fourth. It was an exciting race, a great event with high turnout and a lot of racing fun, and all this before the action continued on Sunday.
