The CMJ crew was busy prepping the track Saturday as racers showed up early to get set up and do track walks. This year the race is the first stop in the I-94 series. Every year the crew tries their best to work the magic and make the track as good as they can get it in the hilly terrain. The riders were shocked to see that the famous uphill whoop section had been redone and all were now sheaked up. 250A was the first class to start the day and try to tame the new uphill whoop section after practice. Thomas Garrett from Spring Grove, IL pulled the holeshot on his Yamaha YZ250 and was the first through the section. The first uphill jump didn’t have enough lift to double in, so you needed to roll the first jump and then start jumping into the section. However, with the water that was put down, it made it difficult to get traction going uphill
