A

practice session ran on Friday helped the rained soaked track transform into prime prepped shape for Saturday, which was the first day of Arkansaw’s first double header of the year. There was some record setting rain fall in the surrounding areas, but the valley the track sits in took what they got well. The Arkansaw crew have this place figured out over the years, and had an amazing deep tilled track ready to go. The +30A class had a really good battle Saturday between Michael Little and Kris Dubiel. In the first moto Little got out front quick with Dubiel close behind. Ben Schweighardt was in third. Little, lap after lap just barley held of Dubiel. Little kept his Suzuki RM250 ahead to pick up the first moto win. Moto two started out the same but Dubiel found a way around Little quick. Little kept him honest all moto but ended up settling for second. Dubiel took the win and overall, Little picked up second overall as Schweighardt was third again. The 85 Junior class had a couple standouts in it. Seth Doeberlein grabbed both holeshots and put a decent lead on second place Nate Telfer. Seth and Nate seemed to be a step above the rest in both motos, finishing 1-2 each time out. Darren Feucht put Chris Staige in Sunday's +35 125cc class.

his Yamaha across in third. The battle was of the class was over fourth. Kaden Degenhardt, Nolan Rommel, and Devin Blume had some of the closest racing of the day. They were swapping spots each lap, in both motos. Degenhardt’s 4-5 scores got him fourth overall when it was all over. Rommel’s 6-4 was good for fifth ahead of Blume (56). Good going guys! Racing continued on Sunday, and in 250C’s first moto Reese Bakken put his Honda out front right away with Jason Lucht close behind. Bakken was able put up a good fight and hold off Lucht until the third lap when Lucht finally got by. Coming through the pack after a bad start, after dominating his class Saturday was Collin Reinhart. He charged from way back to catch up to the heels of Bakken who was in second. While he had to settle for third, it was a great ride. Garrett Weir picked up fourth. In the second moto Lucht again got out front, with Reinhart close behind. Bakken didn’t get as good of a start this moto. In the mix though was Garrett Weir and Colton Bentz. Lucht went down late in the moto, handing the win and overall to Reinhart on his YZ125. Weir inherited second place and second overall with his 4-2 scores. Bentz picked up third, just ahead of Bakken who’s 2-4 scores still earned him third overall. Open B had some shifting

around each moto as well. Robert Pagel got out front early with a challenge from Pat Kumm in the first moto. Kumm worked the insides on Pagel in the tight corners keeping it close for the first three or so laps. Tyler Stoll was in third doing battle with John Weir, who was really fast, but working up from a bad start. Kumm eventually had to settle for second giving Pagel the win. Stoll had a great moto picking up third. Moto two was a different story as Pat Kumm and his Suzuki got pushed way wide on the start causing him to go off the track and having to start from dead last. Pagel got out front again and this time had John Weir was on his heels. Hayden Henry put himself in third after a seventh in moto one, but the battle for the lead was on and Weir made a move on Pagel to take over the lead. Pagel tried to make another run at it, but it was too late and he accepted second in the moto, still good for first overall though. Weir’s moto win gave him a second overall. Tyler

Stoll could only make it up to fifth, but it was enough for third overall. Kumm made his way up to sixth after a long ride from dead last, giving him fourth overall. All in all it was a good weekend of racing, with only spotty showers. Those spotty showers along with great track prep from the Arkansaw crew made for the best track conditions. Not much watering was needed as Mother Nature provided that at the right times, not disrupting any racing, perfect on a motocross weekend.
