eads Racing Unlimited held their annual Buff Daddy series at the Trojan track this weekend. The series is an endurance challenge for riders and their machines, offering six races in four days. For riders who wanted to compete for a championship in their class, the rider had to run all five motocross races, or do four motocross races and the grand prix. The total points of all the races were combined, and the rider with the most points won. Riders didn’t have to compete for the championships if they wanted to race less. Some highlights from Friday evening were in the 250C class. Keegan Hicks, Caden Roberts, Steven Hill, Levi Johnson, and Nick Myers had some good battles in both motos. Roberts took the overall win, running 1-2, followed by Johnson with 4-1 finishes. Kraye Loft, mounted on a Suzuki, took an early lead and eventual win in the 85cc

(12-15) class, ahead of Joshua Taylor and Isaiah Shelton. Loft and Taylor faced each other on the track again in the Supermini class. Both had good runs, with Loft holding on to win both motos. In the 65cc (7-9) class, Brogan Strubberg and Kennan Leis sped around the track, pressuring each other for the lead. Strubberg crossed the checkered line first each time. Not far behind another battle between Kaden Polito and Colton Camp was happening. Polito was able to hold Camp back, giving Polito third overall. Round two of the series began Saturday morning. In the +40 class Michael Smith, Rob Watkins and Rob Talbott pressured each other both motos. Smith took the win in the first moto. In the second moto, Talbott stepped it up, and finished first. Talbott, running 3-1, took the overall. Watkins finished second overall, and Smith third. The Mini Quad class had some fast riders this morning. Drake Edwards took the lead in the first moto, followed by Logan

Stanfield and Abby Bowyer. Stanfield pressured Edwards the entire moto, but could not get around. Edwards had the lead again in the second moto, and looked like he was going to take another win, but then something on his quad broke, and he was a DNF. Stanfield took advantage and crossed the checkered line first, followed by Abby Bowyer. Michael Rice, Michael Min, and Adam Miller of the +30B/C class had two good runs. In the first moto, Rice pulled ahead of the others to take a win. In the second moto, Miller bounced back, crossing the finish line ahead of Rice and Min. Rice’s 1-2 set of motos was still good for the overall. The 250C class was one of the larger classes again. Levi Johnson, Caden Roberts, and Steven Hill were the top three finishers. Behind the three leaders, Nick Myers, Ian Wilmington and Keegan Hicks battled it out for fourth place, with Wilmington topping the others. In the Open A class, James Thompson ran 1-1. The last group on the track Saturday

250C class on Saturday morning. Nick Myers leads #404 Levi Johnson, #715 Caden Roberts, and #413 Keegan Hicks. CYCLE USA, July 2012
