oe McGurer and Josh Denson waged a fast time war in the 600cc class at the Pleasure Riders double header hillclimb weekend on July 21 & 22. McGure came out ahead on Saturday night with a 3.648 second first round run on his Kawasaki, just 6/100’s quicker than Denson. McGurer’s time was also good for the Fast Time Award. McGurer also took the first round lead on Sunday with a 3.834 second time, but in the second round, Denson flew over the top of the 160 foot hill in 3.806 seconds to take the class lead. McGurer failed to better his time on his second ride and had to settle for second place. Denson’s time also held up for the overall Fast Time Award on Sunday. Matt Peters and Kirk Gorsuch were double class winners on Saturday. Peters took the 250cc class win in 3.784 seconds on his second ride, coming from behind to overtake McGurer who posted 3.833 seconds in the first round. In the +40 class, Peters’ first round 3.652 second time was good for the win, with ‘Wild

Wade’ Schultz second. Gorsuch rode his Kawasaki to wins in both the 450cc and 600cc four stroke classes. Dylan Brady was his closest challenger in the 450cc class while Troy Camerer claimed second in the 600cc 4 stroke class. Peters had an even better day on Sunday, winning all three classes he entered, adding the 450cc class to his victories in the 250cc and Senior classes. McGurer, Denson and Andy Fortner were his closest challengers in those classes. In youth racing, Levi Peters took the 85Jr class win, and also claimed the Youth Fast Time award both days. Brodie Bennett was the 50cc class winner both days, Derick Bell and Cline Garriott shared the 65cc class wins, while Reece Hutton and Jacob Bell were the 85Sr class winners. Emily Schultz and Ali Harnish were the top riders in the Women’s class. Lilah McGurer claimed second on Saturday with Schultz second on Sunday.
