Refer a Friend Scheme

If you have a friend or relative who would be right for any of the roles advertised on our careers website, and is interested in joining our team, just email a member of the recruitment team with the name of the individual, and the geographic location and business area (discipline) for which the candidate is being introduced. You should then ask your friend or relative to visit www.cundall.com/careers (after you have informed Cundall) to apply for the relevant vacancy. The candidate should also indicate in their application that they have been referred by you to apply.

Should your friend/relative be successful in being offered and accepting a role on a permanent basis, on their completion of six months’ continuous service, you will receive a bonus payment (subject to tax and national insurance) with your salary, in line with the schemes set out below.

You can refer friends to any job in the company – but currently this scheme applies to introductions made by staff in respect of positions within the UK business. Arrangements for referral bonuses in other offices may vary, and details of locally applicable schemes (if any) are available from Partners / Directors in each location.

Make sure you follow this process when you make your referral. Also, remember that you need to refer a friend to a specific job; it can’t be a general referral of the friend to Cundall.

Current Schemes

Administrative/Support Staff

If you ‘Refer a Friend’ who is recruited as a permanent employee into an administrative or support role you will receive £250 once they have been here for six months.

Professionally-Qualified Support Staff

If you ‘Refer a Friend’ who is Professionally-qualified (ie staff in IT, Accounts, HR, Legal or Marketing holding a degree and/or a relevant professional qualification) and they recruited as a permanent employee you will receive £1,000 once they have been here for six months.

Engineer

If you ‘Refer a Friend’ who is recruited at Engineer level you will receive £1,000 once they have been here for six months.

Senior/Principal Engineer

If you ‘Refer a Friend’ who is recruited at Senior Engineer or Principal level you will receive £1,500 once they have been here for six months.

Associate/Senior Associate/Director

If you ‘Refer a Friend’ who is recruited as an Associate, Senior Associate or Director you will receive £2,000 once they have been here for six months.

Other Information

An employee shall only be eligible to receive a maximum three “Recommend a Friend” payments in any rolling 12 month period.

Any payments made in error under this scheme will be recovered from the employee’s salary. This will be discussed with the employee prior to any recovery being made. In addition to the exceptions outlined above, “Recommend a Friend” bonus payments are not payable in the following circumstances:

1. Where the new employee has previously worked in any capacity for the Practice.

2. Where the new employee has been introduced by a third party (e.g. a recruitment agent), such that the Practice is liable to pay an introduction fee to a third party.

3. Where the new employee joins the Practice on the basis of a fixed-term contract of employment for a period of twelve months or less, and/or under a “Contract for Services”.

4. Where the new employee joins the Practice as a Graduate Engineer (whether as part of the Practice’s structured annual intake of Graduates, or separately).

5. Where the new employee does not complete six months’ continuous service with the Practice following their start date.

6. Where either the existing employee and/or the new employee is on notice of termination at the time that the payment would otherwise be due to be made.

7. Where the existing employee is involved in the selection decision regarding the new employee’s application to the Practice.

8. Where the existing employee is employed at Associate level (or equivalent) or above.
