Introducing Larry Mead, the new bianchi cup Match director This year, the NRA Bianchi Cup would like to introduce the addition of a living legend to our staff. Meet Larry Mead, our new Match Director! Larry hails from Columbus, Ohio where he is a 29 year veteran of the Columbus Police Department, working as an Instructor and Range Sergeant. A veteran of the NRA National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio, Larry has spent 24 years volunteering as a Referee, Chief Range Officer, and currently Deputy Match Director for the Pistol phase of the Championship. In addition, Larry has spent 26 years as Chief Tower Controller, Range Director, and Match Director at the NRA National Police Championships. Larry has worn the hats of NRA Firearms Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer, and NRA Personal Protection Instructor since 1965. A Command Sergeant Major in the Ohio Army National Guard for 35 years, Larry’s distinguished career has sent him throughout the United States and the World at large. A major highlight of his illustrious career is winning the first ever NRA National Police Championship in 1962. Larry is a NRA Referee for the following disciplines: Pistol, Police Combat, High Power, F-Class, International Air Pistol, International Air Rifle, International Free Pistol, International Standard Pistol, Air Rifle, Standard Rifle, and Action Pistol.
