Course Resources

This course is delivered via face-to-face training sessions over 1 to 2 days or 2 evenings per week.

Students will be provided with all learner guides and handouts for each unit of study as part of the course fee. Free access to College computers is available by booking with the Campus Coordinator.

The qualification could be completed within 1 year but has a recommended completion timeframe of 2 years.

Do you currently work in the Aged Care industry? Would you like to further your career and develop your leadership skills to support colleagues in quality service delivery for your clients and the organisation?

Students will be required to complete self-paced study each week outside of scheduled classes. This may include undertaking research and project work at home in order to meet the required volume of learning.

The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is designed for support workers who currently work within the Aged Care industry in residential or community settings or client's homes. At this level, workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and quality of work of others in their direct supervision.

Work Placement

The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support can lead to a career as a: • Coordinator/Assistant Coordinator • Care Team Leader/Assistant Team Leader • Service Coordinator/In Home Respite Care • Care Worker/Personal Care Worker • Day Activity Worker/Community House Worker • Senior Community Worker • Community Support Worker • Support Worker Transport. The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is a nationally recognised training qualification delivered by our industry experienced and qualified trainers. This course is Centrelink approved for eligible participants.

This course is designed for students currently working in the Aged Care industry. The mandatory work placement component of 120 hours will be conducted within your current workplace.

Entry Requirements We recommend all students are currently working in the Aged Care industry. Students need the language, literacy, numeracy (LLN) and digital technology skills to meet industry requirements and physical fitness to undertake relevant tasks such as manual handling, shift work and repetitive tasks. Student's LLN skills will be assessed at course commencement. Students who require additional LLN support to successfully undertake the study program may be given assistance at a local level.

Assessments and Course Completion Students will be assessed using a mix of written knowledge assessments, research projects and practical skills demonstrations in class and during work placement. A 'competent' outcome in all assessments is required for the qualification to be issued.
