Course Resources

This course is delivered via face-to-face training sessions over 2 days per week.

Students will be provided with all learner guides and handouts for each unit of study as part of the course fee. Free access to College computers is available by booking with the Campus Coordinator.

The qualification could be completed within 6 months (26 weeks full time) but has a recommended completion timeframe of 1 year.

CHC34015 Certificate III in Active Volunteering Have you been looking for an opportunity to help your community, meet new people and get involved? Volunteering is a rewarding and stimulating engagement with community or even professional careers that connects you to others. Volunteer work is an excellent way to learn new skills, gain exposure to new experiences, contribute to your community or potentially create a pathway into full time employment. Join this course to learn practical workplace skills including using communication to build relationships, working with diverse people, participating in workplace health and safety, and organising personal work priorities and development. Learning will be through a combination of practical activities with volunteer placement and classroom based written work. The CHC34015 Certificate III in Active Volunteering is a nationally recognised training qualification delivered by our industry experienced and qualified trainers. This course is Centrelink approved for eligible participants.

Students will be required to complete self-paced study each week outside of scheduled classes. This may include undertaking research and project work at home in order to meet the required volume of learning.

Work Placement This course includes a work placement module which will provide you with opportunity to develop your skills from the theory units. Work placement will be discussed and arranged locally by the College. This will be scheduled for a total of 20 hours.

Entry Requirements There are no formal prerequisites or entry requirements for this qualification, however students will require language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to meet industry requirements. Student's LLN skills will be assessed at course commencement. Students who require additional LLN support to successfully undertake the study program may be given assistance at a local level. Students may need to obtain relevant background checks in order to attend work placement and to work in the industry.

Assessments and Course Completion Students will be assessed using a mix of written knowledge assessments, research projects and practical skills demonstrations in class and during work placement. A 'competent' outcome in all assessments is required for the qualification to be issued.
