CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services Community Serv ices is one of the largest grow th industries in our area. The CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services is an ideal course for people who like to assist others and would like to work in a rewarding field where they can make a difference. This qualification reflects the role of entry level community service workers and will teach you the skills to effectively support individuals in community settings or in community-based programs. In practice community workers provide services, support, information and referral for those in need of assistance. They link people with appropriate services, groups, communities and each other. The CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services can lead to a career as a: • Support Worker • Welfare Worker • Day Program Support Worker • Neighbourhood Centre Worker • May work in Community Development Organisations. The CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services is a nationally recognised training qualification delivered by our industry experienced and qualified trainers. This course is Centrelink approved for eligible participants.

Course Resources

This course is delivered via face-to-face training sessions over 2 days per week.

Students will be provided with all learner guides and handouts for each unit of study as part of the course fee. Free access to College computers is available by booking with the Campus Coordinator.

The qualification could be completed within 6 months (26 weeks full time) but has a recommended completion timeframe of 1 - 2 years.

Additional costs may include:

Students will be required to complete self-paced study each week outside of scheduled classes. This may include undertaking research and project work at home in order to meet the required volume of learning.

• 2 CCNI shirts for work placement $50 approx.

Work Placement

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Fully subsidised training may be available for eligible students. For more information about fees or funding contact your local campus to discuss your eligibility.

This course includes a work placement module which will provide you with opportunity to develop your skills from the theory units. Work placement will be discussed and arranged locally by the College. This will be scheduled as a block of 2 weeks totalling 80 hours.

Entry Requirements Students need the language, literacy, numeracy (LLN) and digital technology skills to meet industry requirements and physical fitness to undertake relevant tasks such as manual handling, shift work and repetitive tasks. Student's LLN skills will be assessed at course commencement. Students who require additional LLN support to successfully undertake the study program may be given assistance at a local level. Students must obtain a clear National Police Check and Working with Children Check to attend work placement and to work in the industry.

Assessments and Course Completion Students will be assessed using a mix of written knowledge assessments, research projects and practical skills demonstrations in class and during work placement. A 'competent' outcome in all assessments is required for the qualification to be issued.
