What about the New Heaven and New Earth are you most looking forward to?

Heart

Sometimes we don’t long for the new creation like we should because we don’t want to lose something we have in this current age. But the Bible promises that whatever we may think we lose will be replaced by something infinitely better in His new creation. What keeps you from longing for the new creation fully?

Hands Feet

One reason the Bible tells us about the new creation is that we learn to wait with patience and hope for Jesus return even in the midst of hard times. Have you ever found help in a difficult time by thinking about the new creation? Share that experience with your group/family.

C.S. Lewis once said “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” Every human being has longings that are greater than this world can satisfy. When we listen to those longings, we can better point people to the hope they can find in Jesus. To grow in your ability to listen to your non-Christian friends’ hearts and at pointing them to Jesus for those desires you must learn to ask good questions and to listen. Pick one friend who doesn’t know Jesus yet and invite them to a meal this week. Ask them what their biggest dream right now is.
