Explore Lakewood’s distinct past with a guided tour of Heritage Lakewood historic buildings Stroll through historic Belmar Park, once the home of The Denver Post heiress May Bonfils Stanton . Explore our 1930s farmhouse, the 1948 Valentine Diner and the 1920s Country School . Perfect for families and small groups!

Intuitive Eating Workshop

Intuitive Eating focuses on ten principles to help you ditch dieting and make peace with food Key concepts include waking up with hunger and fullness cues, challenging the food police, respecting your body, gentle nutrition, and most importantly, satisfaction . This is a small group workshop that will utilize the Intuitive Eating Workbook to help each person overcome nutritional habits The 11-week session includes a workbook and is facilitated by a Registered Dietician.

LET’S EAT! COOKING CLUB

These hands-on 4-week programs will teach you the fundamentals of using your kitchen to its fullest potential and working on meal prepping your favorite meals with a nutritious spin and recipe sharing . The classes will include cooking, educational lectures and materials, and of course, eating! An email will be sent prior to the class with the list of ingredients and supplies needed. Most adult classes progress throughout the year, with the exception of Ballroom and Dance Fitness classes, which are not progressive.

Drop-in: All classes are registration classes with a dropin option for those who can only participate when their schedule permits Drop-in fee is $12 for a one-hour class, $15 for a 1 . 5-hour class . For classes in which a partner is required, price is per person .

Private Dance Instruction: Private dance instruction is available by appointment; book a single, three or fivelesson package in the dance of your choice . Wedding dance instruction is also offered using the couple’s chosen music . Ballet Level Iii

Young dancers with a good handle on ballet basics will learn more advanced terminology and ballet technique while working on fluidity of movement through barre and center floor work . Additional attention will be placed on more complex across-the-floor and center combinations This class is skill-based, not age-based It is recommended that dancers in this level take ballet twice a week, with choices of Ballet II or Open Ballet as options for this additional class. For additional strength work, consider registering concurrently for Pre-Pointe.

Contemporary dance is the dance of “today” and is generally a fusion of multiple different dance styles In this class, students will learn the elevated and ethereal qualities of ballet while incorporating the luxurious and grounded quality of modern dance and the precision of jazz dance . Tap Iii

Using warm-ups, across-the-floor, and center floor combinations, students will build on their skills from previous tap classes . They will learn choreography incorporating more complex rhythms This class will also introduce more challenging steps, tap history, and improvisation .

Shoe Requirements: Lace-up shoes with hard soles and screws instead of grommets . No Mary-Jane-style shoes or split-soles .

FEEL THE BEAT CLASS SCHEDULE: MAY 22-AUG 31

Designed for pre-teens to prepare for babysitting opportunities. Students will learn to identify routine childcare duties (feeding, bathing, diapering), basic child development and be able to provide activities for the developmental stages.

Also stressed will be home and fire safety, infant and child CPR, rescue breathing and choking procedures.
