Stars from the original cast of Broadway’s Jersey Boys take the stage in this highoctane show, performing many of your all-time favorites from the 1960s. These four vocalists shared the stage in their role as the iconic Four Seasons singing group for more than 1,000 performances in the mega-hit show, which won a Tony Award for Best Musical. Now, Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard, and Tony Award-nominee J. Robert Spencer have reunited as The Midtown Men, taking their signature sound and chemistry to audiences everywhere performing classic hits from The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Motown, and, of course, The Four Seasons. Popular with piano music lovers and newcomers alike, his unique “concerts with commentary” approach gives the story behind piano works by Albeniz, Granados, deFalla, and Piazolla. Delivered with wit and humor and a deep admiration for the music, Mr. Siegel’s performance will make you fall in love with this intoxicatingly exotic music. Shakespeare’s comedy masterpiece Mistaken identity, espionage, and deceptions take center stage in Shakespeare’s famous comedy. This classic farce is a tale of matchmaking and romantic mischief. When the soldier Claudio returns from war to his fiancé Hero, the two conspire to set up the sharp-witted and belligerent Benedict and Beatrice. Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s last comedies and is considered one of his crowning masterpieces. For their 25th anniversary season, Aquila Theatre tackles this classic romantic comedy with their signature physicality and remarkable dramatization. THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS AND PAGLIACCI A double bill of two short opera masterpieces Virginia Opera opens its 25th season at the Center for the Arts with a fantastic double bill — the satirical ballet chanté The Seven Deadly Sins and Ruggero Leoncavallo’s masterpiece Pagliacci. The final collaboration between Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, The Seven Deadly Sins is a sharp critique of capitalism, exploring greed, desire, and sacrifice in the pursuit of success. Anna, performed by renowned Weill specialist Ute Gferer, embarks on a crosscountry journey in search of the American Dream, encountering one of the infamous sins in each of the cities she visits. In Pagliacci, a traveling troupe of actors blurs the lines of art and life as their play mirrors their own reality with tragic consequences. It features one of the most familiar of all tenor arias sung by the crying clown, “Vesti la giubba.” The renowned baritone Michael Chioldi and the acclaimed soprano Kelly Kaduce appear in these two tales of temptation and vengeance. The Seven Deadly Sins will be sung in English with English supertitles. Pagliacci will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company is known for its remarkable choreography using form to explore identity and social commentary. In this inspiring performance, Bill T. Jones contemplates the amorphous nature of memory in his original work, Analogy/Dora: Tramontane, a breathtaking story of a Holocaust survivor. The dancers move between dancing, speaking, and singing to tell the story of 95year old Dora Amelan, a French Jewish nurse and social worker based on her interviews with Jones. An innovative force in modern dance, Bill T. Jones is recipient of numerous awards, including the National Medal of Arts, MacArthur Genius Award, a Kennedy Center Honors award, and multiple Tony Awards. You will be moved by this evening-length work about resilience and humanity as told through brilliant dance.

METROPOLITAN JAZZ ORCHESTRA TO SWING THROUGH THE SKY Conceived by Paul Glenshaw This exciting original work celebrates the spirit of American innovation with narration, dramatic visuals, lively dance, and the swinging big-band sound of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. The intertwined histories of America’s two most iconic innovations — jazz and aviation — are explored in this special encore performance. Many fascinating points of connection in the history of each invention are revealed through the key innovators, including Louis Armstrong and Charles Lindbergh, Howard Hughes and Duke Ellington, and many others. This multimedia performance features the dazzling jazz musicians of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra led by Artistic Director and alto sax virtuoso, Jim Carroll. Audiences at the Hylton Performing Arts Center were thrilled to enjoy the world premiere of To Swing Through the Sky, and now audiences at the Center can experience this incredible ride. A SALUTE TO OUR VETERANS A patriotic celebration for Veterans Day
This renowned chamber ensemble from London performs an exquisite program of string and wind chamber works for one of the preeminent classical music events of our season. Schubert’s rarely performed Octet in F major highlights the evening’s program and this ensemble’s performance of it is already capturing the attention of the press. “...the St. Martin Ensemble delivered a performance as remarkable as the [rarely heard] work itself” came the glowing review after a recent performance (Cleveland.com). Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble is drawn from the principal players of the distinguished Academy orchestra, which has an international reputation for its distinctive, polished and refined sound. With more than 30 albums, they are the most recorded chamber ensemble, and their impressive repertoire ranges from Baroque to Bartók. The group tours extensively with regular performances in France, Germany, and Spain, as well as North and South America. Be sure to experience their return appearance at the Center.
In observance of Veterans Day, this celebrated pops orchestra presents a concert of uplifting pops sounds to honor all of those who have served and sacrificed to keep us safe. Enjoy a lively program of patriotic favorites and American standards including “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “American Salute,” Aaron Copland’s gripping “Lincoln Portrait,” and “Liberty Fanfare” by John Williams. The evening begins by showcasing the remarkable talents of Mason students amid an array of spectacular food and beverages, and culminates in the Concert Hall when the stars from the original cast of Broadway’s Jersey Boys take the stage in this high-octane show, performing many of your alltime favorites from the 1960s. These four vocalists shared the stage in their role as the iconic Four Seasons singing group for more than 1,000 performances in the mega-hit show, which won a Tony Award for Best Musical. Now, Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard, and Tony Award-nominee J. Robert Spencer have reunited as The Midtown Men, taking their signature sound and chemistry to audiences everywhere performing classic hits from The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Motown, and, of course, The Four Seasons.

The Center for the Arts is proud to be part of George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), supporting and enriching the student experience with world-class performances throughout the academic year and a stateof-the art venue for student performances. CVPA students enjoy the intense professional training of an arts conservatory along with the vast resources of a major research university. They are guided by a faculty of dedicated artistteachers who themselves practice what they teach — performing and exhibiting at renowned venues across the country and around the world.
Students within the Schools of Music, Dance, Theater, and Art perform, create and exhibit work in a wide variety of public venues on campus ranging from the Center for the Arts Concert Hall to the intimate TheaterSpace and the Fine Art Gallery. In addition, students are able to refine their art in several major new facilities including the Art and Design Building, the de Laski Performing Arts Building, and the Music and Theater Building on the Fairfax campus as well as the magnificent Hylton Performing Arts Center on the Prince William campus.
