Described as “deep, steep and narrow,” this extraordinary canyon has the Gunnison River at the bottom. There are several trails for all abilities on both the North and South Rims with spectacular views of the canyon. There are plenty of ranger-guided activities. NPS.gov/blca This privately owned facility has been educating people about animals in this area since 1983. Visitors are given the chance to see these beautiful animals up close in what would be their natural habitats. 5 miles south of Pagosa Springs on U.S. Hwy. 84 970-264-5546 • PagosaWildlifePark.com
