Lancaster schools dare to dream!

Faith & Justice worker, Sue Grubic was delighted to return to the school family of St Columba’s in Barrow to meet the growing number of Laudato Si and take part in a day packed full of activities.

Many thanks to Headteacher, Claire O’Donnell, Year 3, teacher Angela Pope and the whole of St Columba’s school for making me so welcome!

Head Teacher, Catherine Mallard and the pupils of St Begh’s in Whitehaven declared a ‘climate emergency’ in their school assembly on Earth Day 2023 and invited me to undertake a series of the Journey to 2030 ‘Let us Dream’ workshops where pupils use their imagination to create their very own eco friendly fantasy school.

I can’t wait to return to this wonderful school to see how their ideas have progressed.

Details relating to ‘Let us Dream’ can be found on the Ecological Conversion Group’s ‘Journey to 2030’ website. For more information or if you would like your school to take part in a workshop, please contact Sue at: ldfjsue@gmail.com Sue Grubic
