WELCOME TO DISCOVERY BAY! About Discovery Bay Nestled in the evening shadows of Mount Diablo and along the banks of the rich and historic California Delta, you will find Discovery Bay, a community where over 13,000 residents live, work and play. The Town of Discovery Bay Community Services District (CSD) serves as Discovery Bay’s local government, and is responsible for the community’s drinking water, wastewater, landscape services and recreational opportunities. The District’s elected 5-member Board makes decisions on behalf of the community, while the District’s General Manager and staff manage day-to-day operations. The CSD Board meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center, 1601 Discovery Bay Blvd. Residents are encouraged to attend, get involved and share their perspectives on both opportunities and issues facing the community.

BEING WATER WISE In light of the fact that California is experiencing a fourth year of significant drought, the Town of Discovery Bay is encouraging all residents and businesses to use water wisely. The community has stepped up to the plate and met the water conservation goals established by Governor Brown. Please remember that the conservation savings rates are measured each month, and we need to continue our conservation efforts! The Town will continue to enforce Emergency Drought Regulations enacted by the Town of Discovery Bay Board of Directors in September 2014. The wateruse prohibitions are compliant with statewide mandates to achieve reductions and include limiting outdoor irrigation to no more than two days per week.

Regulations for all Discovery Bay Residents and Businesses • Hosing down sidewalks and driveways is prohibited. • Watering outdoor landscapes in a manner that causes excess runoff is prohibited. • Irrigating turf or ornamental landscapes within 48 hours of rainfall is prohibited. • You may not wash a motor vehicle (car/boat/trailer/RV) with a hose, unless the hose is fitted with a shut off nozzle. • You may not operate a fountain or decorative water feature, unless the water is part of a recirculating water system. The use of fountains is strongly discouraged. • Restaurants and other food service establishments can only serve water to customers upon request. • Watering of landscape of newly constructed homes and buildings that is not delivered by drip or micro-spray systems is prohibited.

More Tips to Reduce Water • • • • • • •

Replace your thirsty front yard lawn with drought tolerant plants. Sweep, don’t spray - use a broom or electric leaf blower. Reduce Evaporation - buy a pool and/or Spa cover. Use a low-flow showerhead. Upgrade your toilet. Read your meter to check for leaks. Layer mulch around trees and other plants in your garden. • Launder full loads
