Rational handling of slurry is a question about logistics

Some slurry can be spread in the immediate vicinity of the farm tanks, other slurry is for distant fields, and some slurry simply needs to be moved to another storage facility or e.g. to/from the production facilities for biogas.

For all tasks other than spreading slurry on the farm’s own fields near the property, it will usually be rational to deploy slurry trailers to handle the transport.

With the slurry trailer, a larger capacity is achieved as well as a greater long-distance speed during transport than with a tractor and far less nuisance for other traffic. Finally, you can achieve maximum utilization of tractors, slurry tankers and delivery equipment by having them work concentrated in the field, while the slurry trailers manage the transport.

Also, from a cost perspective the use of slurry trailers is often beneficial. The trailer is often cheaper than a slurry wagon and in terms of maintenance, tires etc. the running costs are often cheaper too.

AP slurry trailers are known for their quality, the use of recognized European sub-suppliers, high operational reliability and a relatively low weight. The most common models are our 34 m³ trailer with 3-axle chassis and our 38 m³ trailer with 4-axle chassis – both typically equipped with a loading/unloading crane of 10 meters with a loading capacity of 10-12 m3 per minute.

One is theory - another is practice

We have built test facilities here in Thyregod so that we can thoroughly function test all slurry trailers, regardless of whether it is the pumps, the crane, the axles, the brakes, the light, etc. This is our guarantee that we hand over a fully functional trailer to the customers, while it also gives us the opportunity to run load tests if customers want individual solutions with e.g., other type of pumps etc. in connection with the construction of their trailer.

The crane and the crane control have extra attention. The new crane is self-supporting and mounted, so it is extra robust and flexible. It means a lot in practice. Both in the daily work and for the lifetime of the crane.
