Healing reports from Africa

Manifestations of Holy Spirit power In An Ocean Of Humanity More Than One Third Of Bujumbura’s Population Attended The Final Meeting

Forty-six percent of the population is younger than 15 years of age. The average age is 16.7 years, and life expectancy is about 50 years. Burundi, located close to the Equator, is a typical agrarian country with a tropical climate and two rainy seasons. About 85% of the people depend directly on farming. Bujumbura, the capital city of Burundi, sits on the northern end of Lake Tanganjika. This lake is the second largest in Africa – 60 times the size of Lake Constance, Germany’s largest lake – and is the world’s second largest sweet water reservoir after Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia.

Africa needs Your Prayer Please pray with us for Africa. Alarming headlines like Ebola, Malaria, Boko Haram, and famine in Southern Sudan illustrate how desperately this continent needs our prayers and intercession. Preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ is now of the utmost importance. Thank you for helping us do exactly that through your gifts and donations. Intercession for Africa at cfan.eu/ap:

Daniel and Rebekah Kolenda in Burundi

Welcome to Burundi and Rwanda Dear Mission Partners, In this edition of the IMPACT you will read reports about two amazing Great Gospel Campaigns. They took place in Bujumbura and Kigali, two large cities in the neighboring East African countries, Burundi and Rwanda. It has been 25 years since the last Christ for all Nations Campaign in Burundi and 15 years since Rwanda. This time a whole new generation heard the Gospel. Most of the hundreds of thousands that attended this week’s meetings were young people who had a life-changing encounter with Jesus. A bishop who sat next to me on the platform in Bujumbura one evening said that all three of his children were filled with the Holy Spirit the night before. They were so drunk in the Spirit that they had to be carried off the field. With so many young people saved, healed, delivered and baptized in the Holy Spirit, I can only imagine how this great nation’s future will be affected. The greatest miracle is the many hundreds of thousands of people that we see making a decision for Christ in these Gospel meetings. This is CfaN’s heartbeat! It is our calling and our primary goal, and the reason why we travel to the ends of the earth. The miracle continues! Africa shall be saved! Yours in Christ,

Daniel Kolenda Evangelist

Thank you for your love, your prayers and your support.

We as a team are “totally blessed,” and thank the Lord for the indescribable privilege of leading hundreds of thousands of souls into the arms of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Burundi and Rwanda will never be the same.

Hearing For 40 years, CfaN has been proclaiming the message of the Gospel in Africa without compromise. The Lord has used the work of CfaN in a unique way, and it has changed the face of a whole continent. Our huge, top-grade loudspeakers are indispensable means in communicating the message to crowds of hundreds of thousands of people. They are the most important tools in our African Gospel Campaigns.

The “East Africa expansion” A few months ago, we informed our Mission Partners that we planned to restructure our technical equipment so we could hold regular Great Gospel Campaigns in East Africa. That meant that we divided our CfaN equipment into two parts. We continued to use most of it in West Africa, and transferred a small part of it to East Africa. But that sounds easier than it actually was. All of the components are designed to fit together, and we were already using a minimal amount for the size of our meetings (attended by hundreds of thousands of people). But our gifted technical teams made it work.

Premiere Of The CfaN-Sound System In Bujumbura, Burundi we used our new East Africa sound system for the first time. Our team had their hands full working out all the kinks, as the set-up and sound check brought some additional challenges. But by the first Gospel message, the sound rang out loud and clear over the huge field. This new sound system has become a milestone for all the campaigns in East Africa. In Rwanda we used the new sound system for the second time. It has proven to be a good investment into the future.

This was only made possible through the generous donations of our faithful mission partners.

Thank you for all gifts – great and small!

Bujumbur a / A Full “Snake Pit”

A Presidential Worship Leader

More than 70,000 people attended the first night. As always, Daniel preached a simple, clear message of salvation. Tens of thousands responded enthusiastically. During the time of praying for the sick, demons manifested all over the field. The “snake pit” – where counselors cast out demons – was filled.

The Lord has truly given us a platform to speak to the nation. High-ranking government officials attended the Campaign, including the First Lady, Senators, Cabinet members, Generals and many others.

In An Ocean Of Humanity More than a third of the population of the city of Bujumbura attended the final meeting. It was an amazing success. The only difficulty was the size of the crowd. There were so many people pressed onto that field, we had to remove barriers so the people could fill all the available space in front of the platform. From a distance, the platform looked like a raft floating on an ocean of humanity.

Guests in the State House After the final meeting, the CfaN team members were invited as special guests to the State House, where the President of Burundi lives with his family. We had another full service with wonderful worship, a Gospel message by Daniel, and an invitation for salvation. Then we prayed for the President and his top government officials, all of whom were present. Many of them truly fear the Lord and desire to serve Him.

Bur undi Burundi is one of the smallest countries in Africa (smaller even than the European country Belgium), but is densely populated. It counts nearly 11 million inhabitants. With 379 people per square kilometer, its dense population almost rivals India. Bujumbura is by far the country’s largest city, as well as its administrative and economic centre. More than 1 million people live in the city and its surrounding suburbs. It is a port city that developed from a small village, which was upgraded to a military post named “Marienheim” by German-East Africa in 1889.

By the third night, the crowd had grown to 150,000 and the President of Burundi opened the meeting. He even led the crowd in some worship with his wife. It’s the first time in CfaN history where the worship leader was the nation’s President!

For the final service in Bujumbura, we had to take away the barriers around the platform, as so many people were flooding onto the field. This is a view of the first rows of attendants from the stage.

The word of God is life to those who find it and healing for their whole bodies. (based on Proverbs 4:22)

Diera, a three-and-a-half year old girl, had the crowd going wild on the second night of the Great Gospel Campaign in Bujumbura. Her feet had been crippled. But after prayer for the sick, she walked for the first time in two years! She joyfully followed her mother around on the stage in front of everyone.

For more than five years, this young man had a hernia with pain and swelling down to his groin. “During prayer I felt a fire through my body from head to toe. Now the swelling has disappeared. He also had a problem with his eyes and could not read without glasses. On the first night during prayer, he removed his glasses and has not needed them since. Now even at school he has no problem reading!

On May 10 th, this lady was involved in a car accident. She had to come to the meeting in a wheelchair. But on June 5th she received the first part of her healing: she could get out of her wheelchair. The next day she came to the field on crutches and received the second part of her healing. When she came on the platform to testify, she was completely healed.

A remarkable testimony came in the very first day in Bujumbura. A mother brought her deaf and blind baby to the service. When Daniel shouted, the baby was suddenly startled and began to cry. The baby then began to look intently at everything all around him. It was clear he could hear and see, healed by Jesus’ mighty power.

Since she was a child, this woman suffered from bronchitis that had developed into asthma. She had great trouble breathing. But the Lord touched her on the first night. Now she can breathe freely.

This young man was deaf and mute from birth. On the first night of the Great Gospel Campaign, the Lord touched him and he spoke for the first time in his life. His first word – in front of the whole crowd – was, “Jesus!” Daniel then prophesied that he would become a preacher of the Gospel.

This man had not been able to bend down, sit or use the bathroom. But on the final night he testified that now he can bend properly and move freely.

This man had a tumor in his stomach since the year 2000. After a meeting one night, he was still able to feel the tumor. But when he awoke the next morning, he realized it had completely disappeared overnight!

Bujumbura The total decision card count from Bujumbura, Burundi was

313,550 precious people who gave their lives to Jesus! We continue to pray for the local churches as they diligently work with the new converts to make disciples.

Beauty for Ashes

Kigali

Kigali is the city where the Rwandan genocide began 20 years ago. The scars of that tragedy remain, and the memories are vivid. It claimed almost a million innocent lives – men, women, and children. We visited the genocide memorial, as well as a mass grave where over 250,000 unidentified people are buried. Our team prayed for the nation

– and future – of Rwanda, and Daniel placed a bouquet of flowers at the grave on behalf of CfaN. May the Lord take what the devil meant for evil and bring something good out of it. This is why we preach the Gospel – only Jesus can give beauty for ashes.

Abounding Grace We experienced many challenges in Kigali – including adverse weather conditions – that made it an unusually difficult week. But the last meeting on Sunday night was a huge breakthrough. The weather forecast called for a 90% chance of rain, and given the pattern we experienced throughout the week, it seemed a washout was certain. But not one drop of water fell on the meeting grounds. The crowd more than doubled from the previous night. Because rain forced us to shorten Saturday’s meeting, we definitely made up for it Sunday night. A graduate of the Reinhard Bonnke School of Evangelism, who was also born in Rwanda, attended the meeting. Daniel asked her to share her testimony for 10 minutes. Then he preached the Gospel, prayed with the new converts, taught on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and prayed for people to receive it. Next, Todd White, who was visiting the Gospel Campaign, prayed for the sick and took testimonies. Many wonderful healings took place. Then we prayed over boxes of prayer requests, prayed for the nation, and prayed for a blessing on the people of Kigali. It was a full, glorious night.

A

bout 11.5 million people inhabit this small country, resulting in a population density of 431 persons per square km. That’s even greater than the Netherlands, Europe’s most densely populated nation. Rwanda is comparable in size to the German federal state RhinelandPalatinate, but has twice the people.

R

wanda is an agrarian country. Farmers make up around 90% of its workforce. They grow bananas, corn, sweet potatoes, peanuts and cassava – typically just for subsistence. However, the government’s efforts to encourage the cultivation of products for export – such as tea, cotton, sisal, cinchona and especially coffee – have begun to yield results. Considerable progress has been made in stabilizing and reviving the economy.

wanda is a small, mountainous country in Central Africa known as “the land of a thousand hills.” This tropical highland, with its favorably moderate climate, is one of the most densely populated areas in all of Africa.

O

ver 40% of Rwanda's current population was born in the last 15 years, lowering the nation’s average age to 18.7 years. More than half of its people are younger than 19 years – born after the genocide. This makes Rwanda an exceptionally young country. The annual population growth is 2.1%. In comparison, France or England grows at 0.5%.

T

he vast city of Kigali is home to just under 1.2 million people. The city was founded in 1907. Today it is Rwanda’s capital and by far its biggest city. Although Kigali is located just south of the equator, its altitude – between 1,433 meters and 1,645 meters above sea level – gives it a mild climate. The city is located on the Akagera, one of the headstreams of the Nile.

„Ministry Today“ includes CfaN in a list of the 21 most influential Christian ministries The American magazine, „Ministry Today,“ is a publication for Christian leaders. Its May/June 2014 edition listed 21 churches and ministries that have influenced the 21st century church in an extraordinary way. May/June 2014 edition

But this is not a list ranking the 21 best churches or ministries. Rather, it is a list of ministries that, in the magazine’s words, “have become models for others to emulate in the ministry world today.” It is a resource from which pastors and ministry leaders can glean ideas to enhance their own kingdom efforts. The 21 churches and ministries also include, for example, Bethel Church, The International House of Prayer, YWAM and Saddleback Church.

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke - Official Page

Both David and Isaiah prayed ‘Lord, rend the heavens and come down’ (Psalm 144:5; Isaiah 64:1). It happened when Jesus came. New Testament believers need never pray it again. Christ tore the heavens, and came down to us. He then returned through the heavens ensuring that they remain open. The rent heavens have been rent forever, and have never been sewn up again, neither by a needle-wielding Satan or any other hand. Through that open heaven the Holy Spirit then began to descend – the latter rain (Acts 2). The heavens are no more like brass, THEY ARE OPEN. Hell cannot impose sanctions, and blockade the kingdom of God, nor deprive its citizens. The new and living way is established beyond enemy control. Jesus Christ is Lord. God bless you. “When I cut a stick with my machete, it snagged my collar, went up to my eye and hit it. I went home and cried, ‘Help me!’ As soon as I recovered I went back to cut the same stick. When I did, it hit the ame eye again.”

James David 67 Years Blind in left eye Healed in February 2012 Monrovia, Liberia

It all began for 67-year-old James David while he was clearing a field to plant crops. As he cut a bush, a branch snapped back and struck his eye. It was the worst pain he ever felt. A few months later, sight in that eye turned to darkness. James had gone blind in his left eye. He scraped together enough money to visit doctors and eye clinics, but they could do nothing for him. The eye was too badly damaged. “One doctor asked me if I wanted them to remove the eye,” James told CfaN. “I told them, ‘No.’”

In the crowd of more than 100,000 people, the Holy Spirit fell on James. He believed God would do a miracle for him. “God wants to heal blind eyes tonight!” said Daniel Kolenda from the stage. “If you are blind, put your hands on your eyes.” As Daniel prayed, James prayed with him. Then he slowly removed his hand from his eye. “I wanted to open my eyes, but I was scared,” said James with a smile. “When I took my hand away, and opened my eyes, I could see from both eyes! I looked around at the people and I said, ‘I can see you! I can see you!’ And I was so happy.” The crowd erupted as James made his way to the stage to share what Jesus did for him. James was never able to return to farming and clearing fields. Instead he did small painting jobs for money. But a year later he went blind in the other eye – this time from a cataract: “When the other eye went blind, I couldn’t even walk without help. I couldn’t prepare food. I couldn’t work anymore.” James’ son, Prince, verified that his dad became totally dependent on others. “After he went blind,” said Prince, “he couldn’t do anything for himself. We had to take him into our house, lead him to the rest room, and even dial the phone for him.” “I told my pastor and my sister that I was so full of despair, I wanted to die,” said James. “I told them if things didn’t change I would drink drain cleaner and die.” Then a year ago, James received cataract surgery to repair one eye. That gave him partial vision. Unfortunately the eye injured by the branch still could not be repaired.

“It felt so good,” said James. “But I was shaking inside. I felt something in there. It was like the Holy Spirit hit me with power inside as I shared the miracle God did for me.” And of course James couldn’t stop telling people about what God did for him that night. “I thank God for what he did for me! Now I can do a better job painting, and I can even work in the fields if I want. I am so happy. God can do anything that we ask him to do!”

“If you have blind eyes, I want you to take your hands and put them over your blind eyes. And get ready because your eyes are about to see now. Right now, I command every blind eye … to open! In the name of Jesus!” Daniel Kolenda on the platform in Monrovia
