Commencement Counts The mercury rose … and so did the class of 2017. Undeterred by an early-season heatwave, graduates and their families and friends celebrated the commitment to completion at the institution’s biggest day of the academic year.

Count on Us You don’t need to be a mathematician — although some Bergen faculty are — to add up the value faculty and staff bring to the institution. Whether receiving recognition for their commitment to the classroom, such as 2016-17 NISOD Excellence Award honoree Dr. Barbara Davis, or earning distinction for their work, such as the Office of Public Relations’ 2016 NCMPR Gold Medallion Award, supporting student success takes a community.

Making a Difference… If you took a moment to think about who helped form the fabric of Bergen County, would you think of us? Since our inception in 1982, The Bergen Community College Foundation has assisted thousands of students achieve their academic goals. Working with our community partners we have consistently raised funds to assist students through scholarships, book funds, and emergency assistance. Our need for support is consistent and strong… This year alone we witnessed a 36 percent increase in students applying for aid through our scholarship program. The Foundation proudly provided more than $400,000 in scholarships alone this past academic year. We’ve also provided countless bus passes and food assistance through our emergency assistance fund. You can make a difference with us… You can become a member of the Bergen family with a gift to the Foundation. The Foundation accepts gifts in all amounts – no gift is too small or too large. Gifts may be designated for a specific use, or they may be directed to the Foundation’s unrestricted fund to be used wherever it is most needed for our students. The Foundation staff is available to assist you. For more information call 201-447-7117 or visit www.bergen.edu/foundation.
