Happenings in the Beijing family scene

Mark Boupo (age 4) is of Russian-Gabonese descent, but has lived in Beijing since he was two months old. Besides Mandarin, he speaks Russian, English, and French. Mark is crazy about soccer, but also has an interest in space and hopes to build a rocket when he’s older. Although his school plans were unconfirmed at the time of print, his parents hope he will attend the Canadian International School of Beijing after a short trip to Canada with his family. Mark also has a younger sister called Melissa (almost 2). Photo by Mishka Family Photography.

Correction: In the June 2013 issue of beijingkids, Talking Shop (p15) mistakenly listed a children’s cooking class as taking place at Hilton Beijing Wangfujing. Though the latter does offer a cooking class, the prices listed actually apply to Hilton Beijing Capital Airport.
