Following a meeting with Tonio Borg, European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, Cruelty Free International have confirmed that, from March 11, 2013, the import and sale of animal tested cosmetic products and ingredients is to be completely banned in the EU. This means that any products or ingredients that are tested on animals cannot be imported, and sold in the EU. The ban sends a strong message worldwide in support of cruelty free beauty and in particular to countries who still demand animal testing for cosmetics, to also respond and ban testing on animals. This is an historic achievement for The Body Shop and Cruelty Free International!
