Philanthropy and Volunteerism at The Bay School WHY BAY? A Bay education has never been more relevant. From its founding, The Bay School was created to be different. As San Francisco’s most agile and innovative school, we deliver a thoughtfully designed, uniquely rigorous educational program—one that values deep, immersive learning, a commitment to mindfulness, and bold thinking for a dynamic and ever-changing world. We teach students to lean bravely into an unknown future with confidence, intentionality, and extraordinary skills for lifelong learning.

Philanthropy and Volunteerism at The Bay School (continued) Bay is fortunate to have a community that gives generously of its time, talent, and resources, inspiring deep community connection. There are many ways to meaningfully participate in the life of the school, including volunteering, attending events, and offering financial resources to the Annual Fund, Bay Splash, and other fundraising campaigns as they arise. We strive for 100% Bay community participation in the life of the school. Join us by giving to Bay in ways that are authentic and meaningful to your family’s circumstance. QUESTIONS? The Annual Fund ALL IN The Annual Fund sustains what is brilliant and exceptional at Bay. It keeps Bay on the leading edge of education, providing critical support for responsive academic initiatives, student life and athletics, faculty professional development, and attractive salaries and benefits that retain talented, passionate teachers. Our goal is 100% participation in the Annual Fund, and every gift is meaningful.

GET INVOLVED Each fall, families are asked to make an Annual Fund gift or pledge before December 31, although we accept contributions until the end of budget year on June 30th. We welcome gifts of any size, and gifts range from $10 to $100,000. Bay families take an “all in” approach by making the Annual Fund a philanthopic priority. QUESTIONS? Contact gchan@bayschoolsf.org

Volunteerism at Bay GIVING TIME AND TALENT Volunteers catalyze community action and make things happen at Bay. Working together toward a common goal, Bay volunteers cultivate community, develop authentic and lasting friendships, and provide a lasting source of strength, talent, and inspiration for the school. Families give their time and talent to support academic, social, co-curricular, admissions, and advancement programs throughout the year. From greeting grandparents or prospective families at one-time events to pitching in at community service days, joining an event planning committee, and serving on the Bay Family Association leadership team, an expansive range of volunteer opportunities allows people to participate at the level that is comfortable with work and family commitments. Volunteerism at Bay (continued) GET INVOLVED Volunteerism is a gift you give yourself and the entire Bay Community. In the fall and spring, the Bay Family Association provides a survey to describe available volunteer opportunities and to ask parents and guardians to indicate their interest in participating or learning more. Throughout the year, families have the opportunity to volunteer or supply in-kind donations for a variety of events. QUESTIONS? Contact bfa@bayschoolsf.org

Special Campaigns BOLDLY BAY At strategic points in Bay’s evolution, the Board of Trustees and school leadership initiate stand-alone fundraising efforts to advance priorities that require exceptional community support and major giving. These campaigns are designed to boldly drive program expansion, bolster the endowment for financial sustainability, support mission-critical priorities like flexible tuition, and enable capital enhancements. Bay’s endgame is bigger. Much bigger. Special campaigns support our forward vision.

GET INVOLVED Periodic campaigns provide an opportunity or everyone in the Bay community to participate at a level that is meaningful for their family. Staff and volunteers make personalized gift requests that are distinct from other initiatives. During campaigns, we kindly ask families to maintain their support for the Annual Fund, Bay’s top giving priority. QUESTIONS? The Senior Class Gift A GIFT OF GRATITUDE Bay is a community strengthened by powerful student voices, participation, and leadership. The Senior Class Gift honors students and their time at Bay. It is a meaningful living legacy for each graduating class, endowed and existing in perpetuity. The campaign introduces Bay seniors to the impact of philanthropic giving and creates a vehicle for alumni to connect with and support Bay over time.

GET INVOLVED Every spring, families of seniors gather for a party to celebrate the graduating class and to launch the senior class gift. Seniors are welcomed into the Bay alumni community and introduced to their class fund for their future philanthropy. The goal of the campaign is 100% participation. Contributions of any amount are welcome and appreciated. QUESTIONS? Contact atalbot@bayschoolsf.org
