Introduction

Welcome back! We’ve missed you.

G

et ready for this year’s fantastic festival! We’ve programmed this year’s events and tried to think of each and every one of you. It’s bursting at the seams with incredible names from the world of children’s books. From Judith Kerr to Shaun the Sheep model making and Jacqueline Wilson to Helen Skelton. There is something for every age. With masterclasses, workshops, storytelling, activities and author talks it’s overflowing with wonderful events for you and your family to get involved. This year also sees the introduction of our younger masterclasses that now start at 6 plus as well as Bath Picks — an initiative to introduce you to some of the brightest stars in the world of children’s books. We also wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of you. Without you the festival wouldn’t be the vibrant celebration that we all love. It’s 10 days of incredible family fun that we are so very proud of. We hope you are too. See you all at the festival! Gill and John McLay

ath Festivals is a charity and runs the three biggest Festivals in Bath — we believe that inspiring, creative opportunities should be accessible to all children in our region. Less than 40% of our income is from ticket sales and your support is vital to us continuing to deliver the UK’s largest dedicated children’s literature festival. Alongside our three festivals we also run a year-round education programme working with over 4000 young people in 2014. We run projects to develop confidence and creative skills with young people from all backgrounds, including some of the most vulnerable in our community.
