This has become a high priority for a diverse range of international, governmental and nongovernmental organizations. Therefore there is an accompanying need for innovative research that can inform the efforts of these organizations in the planning, design, implementation, management and evaluation of post-disaster housing reconstruction projects. For this issue of Open House International, submission of research papers is being encouraged that deal with the diverse range of issues involved in reconstruction of housing after the different kinds of disasters throughout the world.
