Nick Stolls – Dentist I came to Suffolk soon after graduating in the early 80s. I couldn't have found a more special place to live, work and bring up a family for the past 40 years. I joined a practice as a fresh faced dentist, often being mistaken for the work experience boy and for five years I learned my craft, under the guidance of a very patient and understanding senior colleague. In 1987 I started a practice in Harleston which grew over the next few years until we had three dentists and multiple staff providing a service as the only dental practice in that town. It still is. But times move on and I retired from clinical practice a couple of years ago and now spend much of my time working to represent my colleagues nationally in a role that involves negotiations with the Dept of Health and NHS England. Very different from drilling and filling but equally rewarding. I also act as secretary to the representative I am owner/Director of Parson Estate Agents, a family run sales and lettings property agent. I first started at Leicester Polytechnic, now Leicester University in 1975 and studied Estate Management. I moved to Bury St Edmunds in 1978 and have worked in the property market for 42 years. Property has always been my passion having built (quite literally) my own house in the late 1980’s and when asked about hobbies, it truly is property. I have sold homes in Florida and Spain, although not so much now since the economy downturn in the late 2000’s and committee for Norfolk dentists and it was in that capacity that I was pushed in front of a microphone to give the profession's side of the story whenever issues affecting dentistry featured locally and nationally. So it was a natural progression to use radio to promote dentistry and spread the message about how people might improve their oral health and perhaps in a small way dispel the fear and reticence over the public's perception of dentistry. I am grateful for the chance on a monthly basis to be able to mardle on about a subject dear to my heart and perhaps in a small way improve the state of oral health in this wonderful corner of East Anglia whilst offering a little entertainment on

poor performance of the £ against the €/$ due to Brexit. In the heyday, I regularly featured on Sky TV and on exhibition panels as a Florida Property Expert. Now as the Local Property Expert for the South Norfolk and North Suffolk area, my videos are heavily featured on Social Media as well as my YouTube channel and we are known locally for our informative and educational posts. It’s important for Park Radio to be part of the community not only playing a variety of music to suit all ages and tastes, but discussing interesting topics which are important to the local people such as property, legal matters and what’s happening in the area. Attending local events, and organising events which benefit local charities is an integral part of the station’s success. 15
