COMMUNITY HEROES Throughout the pandemic, Park Radio has maintained its remit to supply an upbeat and relevant local radio service. Great News –We have been recognised as one of the key COVID-19 Community Heroes by South Norfolk Council –which is a wonderful testament to all your commitment and hard work. Plus – in late August our application to Ofcom for additional funding was approved – which helps with our running costs for the foreseeable future! Who’d have thought that a little rural radio station could have accomplished so much in the face of such adversity – and come through it with flying colours. Thanks to everyone who nominated us. We all feel very proud.

COVID-19 CHALLENGES Since the team vacated the studios back in March it created numerous challenges which we have faced head-on without any interruption to our service – we stayed on the air 24/7! Through the sensible use of technology we have been able to stream live programmes from presenters homes across our area – starting September 1st from 6am to 6pm each weekday – our output will be all LIVE! We are even able to interview guests live too during Mid Mornings! Park Radio prides itself on the quality and diversity of our specialist music shows – these were lovingly pre-recorded by the team at home ready for transmission during weekday evenings and at the weekend. We have spent a lot of time and funds on new capital equipment to make this happen! We were all very passionate about keeping the service going – and thank all our listeners for all the messages of support.

news COMMUNITY RADIO AWARDS 2020 The Park Radio team since launch, and even more so during the pandemic, work so hard to deliver some really quality programmes. We decided to enter this years Community Radio Awards in a couple of categories! It would be brilliant to be recognised against our peers – fingers crossed!
