The Archive of giovanni sacchi in the space MIL The atelier of Giovanni Sacchi, who worked in the Milanese Via Sirtori until 1997, has been a relevant place for the history of project in Italy. Many important designers and architects have developed their products thanks to his forms: Aldo Rossi, Marcello Nizzoli, Achille Castiglioni, Ettore Sottsass jr and Marco Zanuso,

among the others, have found in Sacchi the ideal partner to discuss with, in order to turn their projects into a threedimensional prototype. Giovanni Sacchi’s atelier stands for an excellent example of the fruitful collaboration between designers and artisans, thus showing how design competences and artisanal skills concur in the determination of an excellent research, which is then turned into a product

or an architecture. All the materials in Sacchi’s atelier (including models, forms, products, photos, drawings and documents, as well as a complete laboratory with prototyping machinery and tools) are now part of the collection of the Museum of Industry and Work (Spazio MIL) of his birth city, Sesto San Giovanni.
