This generation’s master craftsmen The Cologni Foundation for Artistic Craft Professions has sponsored the stage of two young apprentices in two handicraft companies in Lombardy, after they were selected as excellent within the sphere of the ARTIS Project. This is an opportunity for the youths to mature and for the companies to expand, and a further advantage for those who receive the coveted ARTIS recognition.

The Cologni Foundation for Artistic Craft Professions has begun collaborating with Cestec S.p.A. (Centre for Technological Development, Energy and Competitiveness of Small and Medium Businesses in Lombardy) within the context of the ARTIS Project. This project was keenly desired by the Regional Office for Handicraft Businesses and Services for awarding and valorising highend craft activities operating in the sectors of precious metals and wood. Together with Cestec, the Cologni Foundation has elected to provide financial support for the professional preparation of two particularly deserving students, selected in professional training institutes in Lombardy, at two artistic handicraft companies classified as “excellent” in accordance with the parameters of the regional Project. The students selected were the young goldsmith Nathan Podavitte from Castellanza (VA) and the young cabinetmaker Alessandro Germano from Cabiate (CO), respectively from the Professional Training Centre in Gallarate and that in Meda. The two have been given the opportunity to work for six months at the goldsmith and jeweller’s workshop “Piccole Gioie” in Magnago, and the interior
