The significant furniture: the added value. The homogeneous areas of manufacturing: from tradition to innovation. The culture of design and the culture of production: the art furniture manufacture.
Tutti sanno che in Italia, per quanto riguarda la lavorazione del mobile, sono ormai attivi da tempo tre poli principali: la Brianza (con la tradizione del mobile di Cantù), il Veronese (con la tradizione del mobile di Cerea e Bovolone) e il Pesarese. Ma se per l’area Brianzola e del Pesarese si sono costituite, negli ultimi decenni, una serie di iniziative atte a connotare e valorizzare questo settore produttivo, non si può dire altrettanto per il mobile Veneto in generale e quello Veronese in particolare. In questo senso le Giornate Internazionali di Studio, organizzate dall’Osservatorio, rivolgeranno la propria attenzione nei confronti di ciò che si sta facendo e che si deve ancora fare per il recupero di quel patrimonio culturale e produttivo che sono le Arti Applicate, attraverso la verifica dei nuovi processi di trasformazione della cultura dell’abitare, per la valorizzazione e promozione del Mobile di qualità e per un reale recupero di quelle energie produttive e capacità artigianali ancora attive in molte nostre aree produttive. La presenza di una serie di esperti e studiosi quali François Burkhardt (storico e critico del Design, già Direttore del Centro Pompidou di Parigi e della Rivista “Domus”), Vittorio Fagone (storico e critico dell’arte e di arti applicate, docente presso la Facoltà di Architettura di Milano), Ugo La Pietra (teorico e progettista di arti applicate, Direttore del Dipartimento di Progettazione Artistica per l’Impresa all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Direttore della Rivista “D’Artigianato tra arte e design”), Enrico Tonucci (progettista e imprenditore), Maurizio Vitta (teorico e storico dell’arte e dell’arte applicata) è la garanzia che questa iniziativa porterà risultati di riflessione e comprensione dei problemi posti, gettando anche le basi delle prossime attività dell’Osservatorio.
Everybody knows that in Italy, as far as furniture manufacture is concerned, are active since long time three main poles: Brianza (with the tradition of the Cantù furniture), the province of Verona (with the tradition of Cerea and Bovolone furniture) and the province of Pesaro. Anyway, if for the district of Brianza and the province of Pesaro a series of initiatives have come up in the last decades to connote and make the most of this productive sector, not the same can be said of the Venetian furniture in general and the province of Verona in particular. In this sense, the International Days of Study, organized by the Outlook, will turn their attention to what is being done and has still to be done for the development of that cultural and productive heritage which are the Applied Arts, through the check of the new processes of transformation of the home culture, for making the most of and promoting the quality furniture and for a real recovery of those productive energies and artisan abilities still dynamic in many of our productive areas. The attendance of a series of experts and scholars such as François Burkhardt (historian and critic of design, formerly Director of the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Magazine “Domus”), Vittorio Fagone (historian and critic of art and of the applied arts, teacher at the Faculty of Architecture in Milan), Ugo La Pietra (theorist and designer of the applied arts, Director of the Department of Artistic Design for the Enterprise at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera, Director of the Magazine “D’Artigianato tra arte e design”), Enrico Tonucci (designer and entrepreneur), Maurizio Vitta (theorist and historian of art and of applied art) is the guarantee that this initiative will bring results of consideration and understanding of the problems submitted, laying the bases of the Outlook’s next activities.
