Sonoko Sasaki, “Living National Treasure� of Japan, at the spinning wheel, preparing the yarn that she uses to create textiles with the time-honoured technique of Tsumugi-ori. Born in Tokyo in 1939, she dedicated her life to weaving and making kimonos after experiencing the tactile sensations of traditional fabrics.
