Pero había otros dos proyectos del ‘78: un lavabo inclinado con agua saliendo, y el otro era una pequeña botella de la que salía una gran cantidad de líquido. En el ‘82 empecé a hacer esa maqueta colocando juntas esas tres cosas, había algo que las conectaba.
there was another couple of projects from 1978: a tilting sink with water running down, and the other one was a small bottle from which a great amount of water came out. In 1982, I started to come up with a model of these three elements together, there was something connecting them.

—Everything was red, but according to what I saw on an Internet page the bird on the cage was yellow. —The bird was red. The piece is permanently exhibited at the Centro Caci of Bello Horizonte, it is the second of three versions. And there is a team of professionals in charge of the birds, who stay two hours in the cage and then go to a greenhouse and are switched for others. And they are red. But there was a moment in Paris when they rented birds from a store and they painted them. It is possible to keep them red with what they eat. But, Internet is a parallel universe.
De alguna manera los universos paralelos lo atraen y es lo que ha intentado ofrecer al público; laberintos por los que puedan transitar para acceder a otras percepciones, a otras realidades. Caminando, por ejemplo, sobre vidrio roto, como en “A través”, en una escenario lleno de obstáculos donde la vista puede ir más lejos que el cuerpo. La instalación también tiene su residencia permanente en el Centro Caci. En el 2009 hizo “Pling Pling” para la Bienal de Venecia, seis salas interconectadas de colores diferentes.
In a certain way he is attracted by parallel universes and it is what he has tried to offer to the public; mazes through which they can move around in order to have access to other perceptions, other realities. For example, walking on broken glass, like in “A traves”, in a stage full of obstacles where what you can see can go further than the body. The installation is also permanently exhibited at the Centro Caci. In 2009 he made “Pling Pling” for the Biennale of Venice, six exhibition halls interconnected by different colours.
Su último trabajo –“ Río oía”– lo terminó en agosto pasado, una pieza sonora en la que por un lado se oye un río y por el otro risas. Le gusta darse el tiempo de trabajar con tranquilidad, pero puedo hacerlo incluso viajando. “Muchas veces trabajo en el avión, en coche, en ómnibus, caminando, comiendo. Se trabaja en cualquier lugar”, dice mientras se lo oye masticar al otro lado de la línea.
He finished his latest work –“Rio oía”- last august, a piece with sound where on one side we can hear a river and on the other, laughter. He likes to take his time to work in peace, but he can do so even when traveling. “Many times I work on the plane, in the car, on the bus, walking, eating. One can work in any place”, he says whilst one can hear him eating at the other end.
