G4S Secure Solutions (Ire.) Ltd. announce the retirement of Eamonn Hudson G4S Secure Solutions (Ire.) Ltd. have a long and proud history within the security industry in Ireland. Stretching back to 1968 when it first traded under the name Irish Security Services Ltd, the company now employs over 3000 people across its many service sectors. Sean Lemass, a former Taoiseach was one of the company’s original non-executive directors. Its first Irish Managing Director, Bart Lynch, was appointed in 1982. Eight years later Eamonn Hudson succeeded Bart having joined the company in 1973. Over the following 20 years Eamonn led the company through a sustained period of growth and development which included many local acquisitions that encompassed Security Wardens, SecureTec (Athlone), MSA, Bell Communications and A1 Omada. During his time the company has developed a strong portfolio of customer services that covers guarding services, security and fire systems, monitoring and response, and integrated support services including the company’s cleaning operations. In total, G4S now services over 25,000 customers.

Eamonn encouraged his people to play an active role in the industry and many of the company’s executives and managers took up this challenge with responsibilities within the Irish Security Industry Association. Indeed, Eamonn was a former President of the Association and a recipient of its Paul Lynch Award for service to the industry. He was a leading advocate for improvement in standards and was active in the development of the industry’s strategy for Government licensing. Asked what he thinks are the company’s greatest strengths Eamonn quickly mentioned the staff. “I have been extremely lucky to have had the support of many wonderful people who have been to the forefront of our success. Their willingness to accept change when it was necessary and the commitment they have shown to our customers stands out for me. Eamonn is being succeeded by Niall Feely as the company’s new Managing Director. Niall has joined G4S from Eircom Limited where he was Director of Business Markets since 2002 with overall responsibility for strategy, sales, service, product direction and marketing for Eircom's SME customer base of 120,000 customers. Prior to joining Eircom in 2000 Niall spent the previous decade in New Zealand working with Unisys New Zealand, BlueStar Office Automation (now Cogent) NZ and Telecom New Zealand.
