HOTEL & GENERAL INFORMATION

Breakfast  Breakfast will be at the Hampton Inn, 140 Commercial Street, Bath, ME 04530. Breakfast starts at 6am.  The tours will depart from this location at 8am.  This hotel will have a bike wash station for you to clean your bike. Towels and water will be supplied!

Weather in Maine:  During September, temperatures are usually very comfortable with readings in the 50's and 60's, and occasionally in the 70's. Tour Maps  Detailed route maps will be contained in the packets we hand you as you arrive.  1 week prior to the tour, we will email you GPS Coordinates for the tour routes, so that you can plug them into your GPS.

Your Rolling Thru Maine Adventure Thursday 7:00 pm

Your adventure kicks off with a Welcome Party at the Kennebec Tavern sponsored by Tour Master. The Kennebec Tavern is right across the street from the Hampton Inn. Meet the Rolling Thru Maine crew and your fellow tour-mates. We will review the itinerary for the weekend while you enjoy a delicious dinner. Roasted Chicken with Basil, Tomato, Prosciutto and Garlic and Braised Haddock with Lemon are the entrees on this bountiful buffet that will leave you stuffed.

Tour Master will award $300 in gift certificates towards their excellent riding gear. Don’t forget to pick up your Goodie Bag! Before Friday morning’s ride, make sure you fill up your gas tank tonight, or first thing in the morning!

Your adventure Friday- 180 miles 

 

Today’s ride will be approximately 180 miles and take you to the scenic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, a delicious lunch at the Lobster Pond Restaurant in Lincolnville, and on to the picturesque seaport of Camden where you will have time to walk about and explore. There is an optional side trip to Camden Hills State Park after our lunch. We also will be going to the famous Marshall Point Lighthouse, and then be brought back to the hotel. There are rest stops in the morning and afternoon. Bring a full tank of gas, an empty bladder and a charged camera!

6 -7:45 am

Breakfast is served at the Hampton Inn.

7:45 am

Brief meeting (~15 minutes) with your tour guides in the parking area to review the day’s ride, etc.

8:00 am

Ride departs from the hotel’s parking lot.

9:00 am

Group arrives at the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse for a brief private tour and photo opportunity.

11:00 am

Ride stops at the Lobster Pound Restaurant with fantastic views overlooking beautiful Penobscot Bay. You'll feast on Shrimp and Scallop Newburg, Roasted Rib Eye, Chicken Cacciatore, Baked Haddock Mornay or Baked Ham. Leave room for dessert!

12:30 pm

After lunch you will have the option to ride up to the top of Camden Hills State Park where overviews of the village and the sea below will take your breath away, or, go directly on to the charming fishing village of Camden. Feel free to discover this quaint little place we have chosen for you.

2:15 pm

Be ready for the remaining part of this wonderful ride through more scenic coastal roads of Maine. This time, we’ll be visiting the Marshall Point Lighthouse. (Remember the famous lighthouse scene in Forrest Gump?).

6:00 pm

Enjoy some free time with an unscheduled evening in the cool village of Bath. Walk the streets for some shopping or enjoy a good meal with new friends. The night is yours. Please see the red folder in your Goodie Bag for our recommendations on places to eat.

Get some sleep! Don’t forget to fill up your gas tank tonight, or first thing in the morning!

Your adventure Saturday- 145 miles 

 

Today's ride will be approximately 145 miles and take you to Boothbay Harbor and Portland for a Cruise to Peaks Island complete with a traditional Maine Lobster Bake. You’ll enjoy a narrated cruise taking in several more lighthouses and historical forts in beautiful Casco Bay. After feasting at the lobster bake, we head back to Bath, ME, to the hotel for the night. There are rest stops in the morning and afternoon. Bring a full tank of gas, an empty bladder and a charged camera.

Brief meeting (~15 minutes) with your tour guides in the hotel parking lot to review the day’s ride, etc.

8: am

Ride departs from the hotel’s parking lot.

10 am

Group arrives in the breathtaking village of Boothbay Harbor. There’s an hour to explore the village and its wonderful ambience before an early lunch.

11 am

The Boothbay Harbor Inn will serve you a delicious plated lunch with your choice of three entrees. Leave room for dessert, too!

2:30 pm

Boarding time for our private cruise on Casco Bay over to Peaks Island. A lightly narrated cruise will showcase the seafaring history and natural beauty of the area and allow you to view the city of Portland from a new vantage point.

Our group will enjoy an early picnic style dinner featuring Maine Lobster, of course, and all the traditional trimmings. 6:45 pm

Enjoy the rest of the evening with friends and/or get a good night’s sleep for the Sunday ride.

Sunday 7-9am

Today’s Farewell Breakfast will be at the Kennebec Tavern. Here you and your tour-mates will enjoy a catered breakfast of French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and more.

9:10am

After breakfast, the Sunday tour will depart from the Hampton Inn parking lot. It’s a shorter ride because many of you will be riding home today. We’ll be taking you on a scenic tour of coastal Maine in the direction of your home. This combines continuing your Maine adventure with your need to eventually ride home. We’ll have a 75 mile route heading south for our southern guests, and northbound route for our Canadian friends. For those of you opting not to ride, we strongly encourage you to visit Freeport. It’s a beautiful little village with shops, restaurants and parks!
