Dear Americade Visitor,

WELCOME TO THE 2016 AMERICADE!

You are about to experience one of America’s premier events. Each year our community awaits the arrival of thousands of motorcyclists eager to experience our hospitality, beautiful surroundings and the events planned by Americade’s experienced staff and volunteers. Our residents and merchants look forward to renewing friendships and acquaintances made over the past thirty-two years of Americade. Take time also to thank all of the wonderful volunteers that have made this great event possible over the past many years. We are honored to have you as our guests and invite you back at any time of the year with your friends and family. Come back and check out our Charles R. Wood Park Festival Space for exciting events every weekend this summer.

On behalf of the Town of Lake George, we welcome you and your family to the World Famous AMERICADE, held on the shores of Lake George, known as the “Queen of American Lakes”. Each year, motorcycle buffs young and old from all walks of life gather to enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake, meet their fellow bike enthusiasts, find out what’s new and have a good time, against the backdrop of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. We hope during your stay with us, you will have an opportunity to explore our resort community, which features a unique assortment of shops, restaurants, parks, and beaches. Please enjoy your stay, and return soon during any season to enjoy the splendor of our Town of Lake George.

Director’s Chair The old adage that “we’re all part of a big family” gets used a lot these days, perhaps too much. But, it still rings true in motorcycling. And for Americade 2016, we’ve added two significant members of the family. Let me explain. Last June, when many of you left Lake George with Americade memories and more miles on your odometer, we started working on this year’s event. We’re always in search of a new great road, a hidden gem of a restaurant, and a new source of motorcycling entertainment that we haven’t yet discovered. And, while those improvements are essential to you having a great Americade Week, we’re pleased to make two bigger announcements, involving “old” and “new.” First, the old: We’re introducing a Vintage Motorcycle “Garage.” At Fort William Henry, where you typically see the most factory demos of any event in the U.S. showcasing their latest and greatest, you’ll see a display featuring motorcycles dating back to the 40’s. Private collectors and members of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America and Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club brought their bikes from around the northeast to Americade to share with you. Go take a look, and see how the modern motorcycle you’re riding today was shaped by these wonderful bikes. And if you see a vintage bike owner there, thank them for sharing their treasured bike with us. Now, the new: Americade is introducing an adventure bike rally called DirtDaze! Americade Week always attracts a broad array of motorcycles, because Americade is known as a true riders rally; if you ride on roads, any roads, then you’ll appreciate what Americade offers. Though we’ve typically focused only on paved street riding, many adventure bikes annually also come, equipped to ride around the world on any surface. DirtDaze answers their previously unmet need, and perhaps yours, too. How? At the DirtDaze headquarters about 6 miles away, you’ll find KTM factory demos, and world class rider training, both of which interests many of us. And there are amusing adventure bike riding contests going on, some great riding entertainment, and some fascinating guest speakers. Like the Vintage Motorcycle Garage, DirtDaze is another (muddier) member of Americade family, and we encourage you to take a look. And, best of all, your Americade wristband works all week long at DirtDaze too. We hope you have a wonderful week of riding,

Stunt Shows The Busted Knuckles Stunt Show is making their debut at Americade 2016, and they’re like nothing you’ve ever seen before. We’ve hosted world champion stunt riders before, but these guys have a unique and fun approach to their wild stunts....they don’t ride motocross or trials bikes. Instead, these guys do all their stunts on Harley-Davidsons! These American Daredevils perform stunts that include wheelies, acrobatics, burnouts, jumps, pyrotechnic stunts, and whatever else they have up their sleeve. These are exclusive shows to Americaders, and if you have a wristband, you’ll have a front row seat to this unique, exciting, and crazy show. Monday 6 & 8pm | Tuesday 5pm & 7pm | FWH Demo Area

The Smage Brothers‘jaw-dropping stunt showreturns to Americadeby popular demand. These stars of NBC’s America’s Got Talent have teamed back up for a stunt show you’ve got to see to believe. Come see these talented brothersup close and in person. They’ll ride upnear-vertical walls, jumpbig gaps, do 180 degree helicopters, bunny hops,low-speed wheelies, full speed stoppies, and an endless array of balance skills. Both Pat and Phil Smage are the top echelon of U.S. moto-trials riders.Pat is the current and 8 Time National Pro Trials Champion; he’s the top moto-trialsrider in the entire country. Phil has three X Games victories, three world records, and some of the best back flips ever under his utility belt. He is fresh off the “Marvel Universe Live!” nationwide tour doing motorcycle stunts, acting, and fight choreography as Captain America. Tues & Wed 12 & 2pm | Thurs-Sat 12 & 3pm | EXPO

During Saturday’s Party on the Pier, you’ll see a very special stunt show by World Champion Teach McNeil. Teach thrills crowds all around the world and you’ll stand within inches as he performs his gravity-defying stunts on the pier. Riding Skills Rodeo

Have fun AND become a better rider! Free to all Americaders with a wristband. Do you have full control of your motorcycle at all speeds? We set up a fun course, and have professional coaches on hand, who will teach you to be a better rider, in a short amount of time. Free Instruction from the Pros: Our professional instructors show you basic low speed motorcycle control techniques (works on any bike) as they ride through various cone patterns. You’ll be invited onto the course with your own bike for some personalized instruction. Then you can practice the skills you just learned, with the pros coaching as you ride the patterns. It’s a blast and ideal for any skill level. And best of all, it’s free! Feeling competitive? Take the Rider Challenge. Ride through the patterns without hitting any cones, going out of bounds, or putting a foot down. On Friday evening, we will keep score and the top rider will receive our Top Gun Award. Why Friday? You have all week to practice. After your ride, come on over to the Festival Commons for the awards and Audiostars Concert!

Touring Tips 1. Begin your day with a FULL tank of gas and EMPTY bladder. 2. Make a gas stop one of the last things you do before heading for your night’s lodging. 3. If you’re taking a Guided MiniTour with friends, have breakfast together and arrive as a group. We put you in line as you arrive and it’s difficult to accom- modate riders who arrive separately. 4. Some tours have multiple waves and staggered departure times. 5. Arrive with clothing appropriate for the expected weather and temperature for the destination. 6. All MiniTours proceed at the legal speed limit, allowing time for photo opps & rest stops. 7. Because parking may be congested at some stops, trailers are not permitted on tours. 8. Tour Leaders will announce each tour’s CB Channel before departure. 9. Don’t forget to bring your camera. The annual Americade Photo & Video Contest (page 8) pays cash and if you have some shots of destinations, it might pay for your next Americade!

Riding Rules 1. Ride in staggered formation. Use a two-second spacing interval. 2. No passing or weaving, please. 3. All standard rules of the road apply; this is a tour, not a parade or a race. Riders must obey all traffic signals, unless a traffic control officer waves you through. 4. Your presence must be accounted for. If you have to leave the group for any reason, please notify your Tour Leader before you depart the tour. 5. Departure and rest stop times must be adhered to. 6. The main formation will not stop for breakdowns; tour staff will call for assistance if needed. 7. A.M.A. “Ride Straight” rules apply for the safety of all. 8. NO Pets please (for the safety of others and destination restrictions). 9. Bring a FULL tank of gas, an EMPTY bladder & a BIG !

Cruisin’ Lake George Set sail on the “Queen of American Lakes” aboard some of the most interesting ships in the northeast. At 190 feet, The Lac Du Saint Sacrement, is the largest ship on the inland waters of NY. The Saint boasts several covered decks, well appointed dining room, a dance floor and observation deck for taking in the spectacular scenery. The Mohican is the nimble little sister and can glide into serene bays, between picturesque islands, and close to the charming camps & cottages along the shoreline. Finally, the MinneHaHa is a real paddle boat with a working Calliope aboard. Each of these boats offers something unique to those aboard. Each 2-hr cruise starts out with a delicious meal to wet your appetite for the spectacular scenery to come. Support the Troops Cruise - Tuesday We’re taking one of our great Americade cruises and combining it with our love of those who have served. Join us for a special evening celebrating (and surprising) our vets on a cruise sure to make you proud to be American. The Patriot Guards will greet you as you board, and each branch of the military will be honored during the cruise. Folks will dine on Chicken Parmesan & Sirloin Tips w/noodles; Cod with Cheddar Crumb topping; Tossed Salad, Fruit Compote Salad, Potato Salad; Oven Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes; Strawberry Cream Cake and Beverages. Beatles Cruise - Wednesday It’s a British Invasion! Experience the unparalleled beauty of Lake George’s blue waters on a wonderful dinner & sunset cruise while listening to songs of the “Fab Four” and enjoying Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Tossed Salad, Cole Slaw and Beverages.

Cruisin’ Lake George - Thursday & Saturday This is a Must Do for any Americader - Taking a sunset or leisurely afternoon cruise on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, on a beautiful cruise ship, with a great dinner---Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Tossed Salad and Beverages, with a group of people who share your love of motorcycling. Time on the lake doesn’t get any better than this. Cruise ‘n Cream - Thursday This cruise is not to be missed. You’ll depart from Lake George, traveling along the east shore past numerous uninhabited islands, along the foot of countless Adirondack mountains. The name of the ship is the Mohican, and it offers enclosed decks with wonderful views as well as a top deck for those looking for a gentle lake breeze. Cruisers will have a feast of Beef, Chicken, &/or Vegetable Tacos, assorted toppings, drinks and of course Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. We’ll make a special stop at an exclusive Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop on the pier just for you! Watching the ship dock at this pier is always great fun, and having an ice cream dessert waiting for you makes it even better. Fireworks Cruise-Friday This will be great! Get THE BEST seats for Americade’s fireworks show on Friday night by hopping aboard a special fireworks 90 min boat cruise. Americade’s fireworks show is launched from barges on the lake, and you can be one of the lucky passengers aboard the MinneHaHa steamwheel cruise ship. You and some of your friends will get a jaw dropping, close up view of the show. (We did this a few years ago, and attendees LOVED it). Cash Bar on board.

All boats run Rain or Shine and leave from the Lake George Steamboat Company on Beach Rd. You may board the Saint & MinneHaHa 1 hour and the Mohican 1/2 hour before posted schedule.

In this engaging and entertaining workshop, Trow takes on the misunderstandings and longstanding myths of motorcycling. Bring your favorite myth and be ready to participate in the discussion.

What worked and what didn’t, what was brilliant and what was downright stupid. Pro Rodeo & BBQ

Saddle Up! Americade has partnered with Baggers, Hot Bike, and Motorcycle Cruiser magazines to create a big, fun and adrenaline-filled charity professional rodeo.

Ticketed Americaders enjoy a special pre-rodeo BBQ. Kick-off Wednesday evening by bellying up to the finger licken’ Texas BBQ at the Painted Pony. Chow down on slowly smoked BBQ chicken and pulled pork, all the fixin’s and dessert. Yee-haw, that’s some good food, and it always gets great reviews from attendees. After you’ve had your fill...mosey on over to the covered stadium to watch a great show - a full-on Professional Rodeo--the cowboys compete in Bull Riding, Bareback Bronc Riding and more. The cowgirls will race against the clock in a cloverleaf pattern in the barrel racing competition. It’s an exciting, crowd pleasing evening. Everyone is welcome to attend---with some of the profits going to one of the best charities in the region: The Prospect Center*. Whether you’re on a bike, or want to be an honorary motorcyclists for the day, we encourage you to come, enjoy the show, and help ease a rough ride! Signing up late? Registered Americaders can sign up for the BBQ during Americade Week at the Lake George Holiday Inn. General Public: Come on up, and join the fun. It will be a large crowd, cheering and rooting for the professional cowboys and cowgirls. Concessions will be available in the covered stands. Rain or shine: The grandstands are covered. General Public get Your Tickets Here: http://www.paintedponyrodeo.com *The Prospect Center provides excellent care for those of us who were dealt a tough hand in life, and are too disabled to live on our own. http://www.prospectcenter.com

Comedy Shows

Winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Alonzo Bodden is back to tickle your funny bone. In response to overwhelming requests from Americaders who loved his show the last couple of years, we’re flying this hilarious motorcycle-enthusiast/ comedian in again from LA for 3 nights of good, clean humor about motorcycles and the world. You’ll laugh so hard, you’ll feel it the next day. Nationally known for his appearances on NBC’s Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and many others, Alonzo is an avid motorcyclist who’s outrageously funny. His sold-out Americade shows receive standing ovations and each year he has new material plus his famous impromptu audience interactions. Treat yourself to a seat before it sells out again. Opening Act: You may have seen Joe Bronzi performing on NBC’s “Night Shift,” ABC’s “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, at the MGM Grand, or opening for legendary comedians like Chris Rock or Louie Anderson, and now Alonzo Bodden. His comedy background includes extensive improv training and his performance style mixes award-winning writing with fast-paced “off-thecuff” crowd interaction. Upbeat, clean, and positive; Americaders will love him! Wed, Thur & Sat 8-9pm | FWH Towers Hall

Festival of Lights

Some folks do it for fun, others for safety...either way we’re all excited to see how folks have dec’d out their ride. Do you have a computer controlled rolling light show, or a subtly elegant illuminated ride? Do your bulbs outshine them all on a city street, or light up a dark road late at night? One thing in common---y’all just want to be seen! What better place than the Festival of Lights on Thursday Night! Sign up at the Activities Rm (see pg 24 #16 and pg 17) or join the Light Parade-lining up at Fort William Henry (see pg 24 #13) at 9pm and taking off at 9:30pm to circle Lake George Village, gather some late comers, and come back to Fort William Henry for Judging. Do you just want to see the BEST and latest in Decorative & Functional Lighting? Grab a good spot at FWH as the bikes take off for the parade, enjoy the Balloon Glow, Fire Juggler & other entertainment. Be there when the Parade pulls in to see how the competition shakes out.

If you don’t have an Americade Full Week Pass or need to pick up a Dinner Ticket---stop by the Holiday Inn (see pg 6 #7) by Thurs. The Best Meal! Last year folks raved about the caterer---so we’ve invited them back. The meal includes: Tequila Lime Chicken Breast; Grilled Flank Steak; Maple Cured Roasted Pork Loin; Tri Colored Orzo Pilaf; Johnny’s Green Bean Salad w/ Pickled Onions; Potato Salad; Baked Ziti; Bacon BLT Salad; Roasted Wild Mushrooms & Arugula Salad; Watermelon & Feta with Champagne Vinaigrette; Salad, & Fresh Baked Rolls. $30,000+ in Prizes! After dessert, you might be one of the winners of Friday’s Major Door Prizes, including a Harley-Davidson® Softail Slim® (must be present to win)! Yep, one lucky attendee will have the keys handed to them on stage. How will they get it home? That’s a good problem to have. Following the Award Presentation and Prize Drawings, The AUDIOSTARS will take the stage. They are one of the best bands around, and can be described with one word: Fun! You’ll love them! FWH

Dunlop Parade Join the Americade Parade! It’s fun, free and showcases motorcycling to thousands of spectators along Canada St. Simply join the Parade Line-up on Westbrook Rd (enter from Beach Rd) first thing Saturday morning, and we take care of the rest. You’ll ride for about 20 min, ending up at a post parade party. Special dignitaries lead the parade, and some colorful characters are in the parade - there’s a costume contest for the Funniest Outfit, too. You’re welcome to put together something snazzy and give it a roll. Tune your radio to the special station, and turn up the volume: All the motorcycles’ music will play to the spectators. It’s a fun event, and shouldn’t be missed. Americade will collect donations to benefit the Lone Survivor Foundation (benefiting veterans with PTSD). Donations can be made at the Americade Expo Tuesday - Saturday and at the Party on the Pier (see pg 62) after the Parade. Party on the Pier

NEW Saturday Party! Live Music, Great Food, MORE Door Prizes, Incredible Views and an Amazing Stunt Show. Americade’s famous parade will head to the best destination possible for its post-parade party...the shores of Lake George! The “Party on the Pier” will begin when the parade ends, on the steamship pier at the foot of Lake George. It will be thrilling as the massive ships (and their loud horns) greet you as you pull onto the pier to park (limited to the first 200 people). A great band will be playing on the pier, as the chefs provide a fun picnic in a beautiful and unique setting. During lunch, you’ll see a very special stunt show on the pier by World Champion Teach McNeil. Teach thrills crowds all around the world and you’ll stand within inches as he performs his gravity-defying stunts. After watching Teach, you’ll never look at riding a motorcycle the same way. The thrills keep coming as we give away over $4,000 in Door Prizes (see the next page for full listing). Menu includes: BBQ Chicken (served), Salad Buffet, Tossed Salad, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Rolls & Butter, 12oz. Bottles of Soda. Saturday 10:30a-3pm | LG Steamboat Dock After the Party on the Pier...Americade’s not over!
