Amazing! And, taking over the reins of such a long-standing and successful event carries with it the excitement of shaping the event’s future, while maintaining the special quality expected by thousands of attendees. Today, that special quality does remain, and it is my mission to keep it that way. Yes, the event has grown enormously, and we’re more than “only” a touring event. We welcome motorcyclists of all kinds here, but that focus on touring and what’s best about motorcycling are still at the core of Americade. Certainly, we will continue to gently resist some of the forces that tug at the event, ensuring that the event stays true to its original vision and exceed your expectations. And you do have high expectations. Amazingly, many of you reading this remember the first Americade (Aspencade then), having not missed an event in the past 32 years! We have volunteers who have shown similar dedication to Americade, having volunteered for decades, since I was a 14 year old kid helping at the first event. And, most of you claim we’re among the best riding events in the U.S. (Thanks!) At the 2013 event, we saw lots of smiles throughout the week, and heard great things about the event. And, as always in our questionnaire thousands of you provided great suggestions for next year’s event. [Yep, we read every single compliment, comment and critique. It’s how we improve every year.] Well, for 2014 we won’t disappoint, because we have a number of surprises up our sleeves. In fact, we’re working harder, logging more hours, considering more different routes, and devising more fun (and whacky) motorcycle events than ever before. You’ll see exciting changes at Americade 2014, and we are confident you’ll love ‘em. It’s what Bill and Gini started back in the 80’s, and is what they and I will continue to do for the next 1/3 of a century. Amazing. Ride safely, and see you at Americade,

2013 In Ameri-week started early this year with extended trade show days. TourExpo at the Beach was hopping on Saturday, Sunday & Monday with folks who showed up early to get their fun started! After Registration on Monday many Americaders took advantage of an early start on collecting stamps for the Scavenger Hunt; while others settled in to their accommodations and got ready to head over to Americade HQ at Fort William Henry for the evening’s Special Pre-registration Opening Events. Newbies in the crowd were encouraged to come to a special event just for them. Hundreds participated in the Newcomers’ Meeting to get their bearings and hope for a chance at great door prizes from J&M. Afterward, the Opening Celebration Dinner, Entertainment & Prizes was just outside the door. Bright & early Tuesday morning Americaders were ready to get their week going. With over 65 events & activities there was plenty for everybody to do on the road, off the bike and around the region. During the course of the week some of you may have noticed a camera crew following around a group of fun lovin’ guys. That was the History Channel crew filming “We’re the Fugawis”---a new series about a group of riders who formed a club while at Americade a few years back. These fellas spent the week razzing each other and having a blast! You can see the Americade Episode (maybe you’re in it?)here: http://www.history.com/shows/were-the-fugawis/videos/were-the-fugawis-i-double-fug-dare-you Check it out---you may catch yourself on national TV!

Opening Day Events

Fun got started early on Opening Day---the Newcomers’ Meeting, held in Towers Hall at Fort William Henry was the place to get the low-down on the weeks events and hopefully snag the first door prize of the week from J&M Communications. In case folks couldn’t get to Americade until later in the week, we held two more Newcomers’ Meetings Tuesday & Thursday. From there, ticket holders for the Opening Celebration Dinner were welcomed at the White Lion Room for a delicious meal. While they dined, the party was getting started just outside the door. Open to all Pre-registered Americaders, the Opening Celebration was located under the Big Top Tent, on the front lawn of Fort William Henry---overlooking the best view in town. Folks were invited to grab some dessert with coffee or tea and join the crowd under the Big Top. Bobby Dick & Suzie Q tuned up the audience with their Rock n’ Roll 101 extravaganza. Folks were bustin’ a move on the dance floor as they waited for everybody to get settled in for the rest of the show. In between musical sets, the juggler rolled out some high energy fun as he zoomed around the dance floor on his unicycle while juggling everything from balls, to bowling pins, to some very sharp knives. It was quite a show! Not to be outdone by all the other entertainment, Rider Magazine’s legendary editor, Mark Tuttle, brought arm loads of door prizes. There were over $7,000 in prizes and many lucky winners.

MiniTours...an

Throughout the week thousands of enthusiasts rolled out of bed and down the road for fun filled days of cruising to out of the way attractions, taking in amazing vistas, and enjoying specially prepared meals for our groups. 10 tours---5 Guided & 5 Unguided, departed daily beginning at 8 am. Thousands of motorcycles filled almost 2,000 miles of open road throughout the Lake George Region; winding through the northern woods, along stunning lakes, across bucolic farmland, and over spectacular peaks. Each tour was thoughtfully designed to expose tourers to the best the region has to offer by way of roads, attractions, and eateries. Whether your pleasure was to amble along country paths and travel nostalgic by-ways; or challenge yourself with a thrilling ride along mountain spines and through narrow passes ---we had the trip for you! Fueling up is always an important part of any trip; menus were as varied and exciting as the rides themselves. Folks enjoyed everything from a traditional Turkey Dinner with all the fixin’s, to exotic Cuban-style Roast Pork & Moroccan Chicken, to catch of the day Fish-n-Chips! Ample sides, drinks & desserts rounded out the meals and in some cases left folks begging for a rest before the next leg of the trip! Luckily many of the venues offered a chance to do just that---kicking back on a lake side veranda, perusing an interesting gift shop/store, or taking a gondola ride were just a few of those options.

During the meal, folks had a chance to win prizes contributed by the generous sponsors:

Pig Roast n’ Hoedown Tuesday’s big shindig has quickly become a “Must Do” event at Americade. Great food, marvelous view, foot-stompin’ band and a generous sponsor made for one heck of a party. Dinner goers lined up early for a heaping plate of tender Roast Suckling Pig, Smoked Turkey Breast, BBQ Pork Ribs, and all the fixin’s. Meanwhile, the Skeeter Creek Band got the party started with their gritty southern sound. Dancers kicked up their heels ---givin’ a stomp and shout while two-stepping around the dance floor. To top it off Tour Master handed out sporty riding gear to a few lucky winners.

Bowling Thunder

Whether folks rolled spares, strikes, or took a spin down the gutter... the action was hot and fun was had by all on Tuesday evening. Teams cranked out curve balls, caught the fence posts and dropped deadwood in the pit. In case you’re wondering--that’s “League Speak” for FUN! In between frames, Spare Time rolled out a light Italian meal with ziti & meatballs, salad, dessert & beverages. Regardless of skill level, everybody had a chance to win. In a show of generosity and good sportsmanship, the folks from Scala Rider awarded fabulous prizes to the Highest & Lowest scores of the event. 14

Stunt Shows

Smage Brothers, stars of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, started out in the backyard jumpin’ logs and pulling wheelies. They honed their skills among the top echelon of U/S. moto-trials riders...then brought the show in the road. Straight to Americade! Pat (5-time AMA Trials Pro National Champion) and Phil (3-time X Games Champ) entertained the crowd at Fort William Henry Monday - Wednesday with an eXtreme motorcycle riding display of 180 helicopters, bunny hops, and full speed stoppies...between the legs of some trusting audience member.

Globe of Death...

Crowds were glued to their spots as riders, caged in a globe of steel performed a thrilling, gravity defying show at TourExpo several times a day Tuesday - Saturday. Once on-lookers were warmed up watching the skill of one rider---the second was sent into the cage. As bike speeds increased to an exhilarating level, the tandem riders were able to perform loops and spins while inches away from each other. An added level of excitement included pulling a willing participant from the crowd, to stand motionless inside the cage as two performers buzzed over his or her head!

15

Factory Demos & Displays

Hospitality tents were hopping at Fort William Henry as folks waited for a turn to take a spin on a shiny new motorcycle, trike, or both! Window shopping was brought to a whole new level--with more demo brands & bikes, in one place, than at any other event in the US! Folks had the opportunity to ride the bikes they’d been dreaming about, then talk to the experts about how to make one their own. 13 manufacturers rolled out dozens of shiny new bikes, on which hundreds of happy riders covered thousands of miles. BMW, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, Kymco, Motor Trike, Road Smith, Spyder, Star, Suzuki, Thoroughbred, Victory, and Yamaha were available at Americade HQ at Fort William Henry; while the Hannigan display could be seen at TourExpo at the Million Dollar Beach. Back by popular demand, Shoei helped enhance the “new ride” experience by fitting folks with the right helmet, and offering Helmet Demos to those about to take a spin on one of the hundreds of motorcycles available for test drives during Americade! Without a doubt, Americade was the place to test ride before making a decision on the best ride of your life!

Adventure Events

Motorcycle Riding wasn’t the only way to get an adventure fix at Americade. Thousands hit the region to enjoy some “Off the Road” activities offered to help round out the Adirondack Experience. All week long folks took to the skies, trails, trees, and waterways seeking adventure. The payoff for getting up before the crack of dawn was the view. Folks who took a Hot Air Balloon Ride were treated to fabulous sunrises over the Green Mountains of Vermont and surrounding countryside. If they wanted to sleep in---the sunset rides were just as spectacular! The Saddle Up gang took to the trails Tuesday - Thursday for their adventure--meandering up piney paths, thru grassy meadows and into the surrounding mountains for a spectacular view of Lake George. For those seeking a faster pace White Water Rafting sent folks shooting through Class II & III rapids on Thursday---for an all day adventure. They enjoyed 2 picnics, while sitting along the Hudson watching the river flow by. Set high among the Adirondack woods, the Zip Line & Ropes Course challenged hundreds of participants to find their inner monkey among the zip lines, swinging bridges & hanging nets Tuesday – Friday. Can you meet the Ameri-Challenge and do them all next year?

Due to weather, the Lake George Rotary Charity Golf Tournament was cancelled. Thanks to all who donated their fees to this worth community organization. 18

Boat Cruises Party Boats & Pleasure Cruises--- Either way thousands of

folks had a great time cruising the serene waters of Lake George. Once again, Themed Cruises were in big demand, with a choice of three different cruises sailing Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings. Each had a special, themed menu, entertainment & door prizes. Tuesday featured the 3-hour long Paradise Bay Cruise, hosted by Honda, that took a leisurely pace along the sylvan shoreline, past charming islands, through “The Narrows”, and into one of the lake’s most picturesque bays. In some places, the boat was so close to shore folks could reach out and touch trees from the upper deck! After a scrumptious meal including a Beef Carving Station, Chicken Parmigiana & Fish in a Dill Cream Sauce, cruisers settled into a spectacular evening with drinks on the deck, music, and door prizes from Honda. Wednesday welcomed back Dunlop’s ever popular Mardi Gras Cruise. Folks just couldn’t get enough of the Cajun Feast and Zydeco Music ---it’s as if they’d been transported to the Louisiana Delta for a fais do do (fay-doe-doe) aboard a legendary Mississippi River paddle boat. Revelers shouted “Laissez les bon temps rouler” all the way to shore---Let the Good Times Roll!

20

www.americade.com

Thursday evening cruisers embarked on a tropical cruising dream. Beautiful Polynesian women welcomed cruisers aboard the Saint with a traditional island greeting “E komo mai” and a festive lei. The Luau Cruise featured a show to remember as hip-shakin’ Hula Dancers & thrilling fire-breathers took the stage. The entertainment continued as the dancers encouraged many of the attendees to join in. In addition to all the performances, dancing and the fabulous Hawaiian Buffet—folks received wonderful door prizes from the evening’s sponsor, Kawasaki. For those looking for less action, we offered seven “Free-Style” dinner cruises where the main attraction was Lake George itself! Ships set sail with a fabulous buffet ready to dish out. Folks grabbed their food and found a place to sit---whether inside or on deck to catch a breeze---the view was spectacular! Each of these 2-hour cruise set sail from the foot of Lake George and headed north along hidden coves, open lake & magnificent bays. As a salute to our troops, Americade Volunteers aboard several cruises asked for a moment of respect for veterans and serving members of the military. Our thanks and respect go out to all who serve.

Comedy Shows What can we say? Wednesday and Thursday entertainment couldn’t have been better. Both evenings 500 lucky folks brought their tickets and lined up early to grab a seat at the hottest show in town. Opening the shows was NYC comedian and In the Tank podcast host Jon Fisch. Jon’s quirky observations of the everyday man (himself included) rev’d up the crowd for the main event. Alonzo Bodden, winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, took the stage ready to do what he does best---making people laugh. Alonzo, an avid motorcyclist himself, didn’t give folks a chance to catch their breath between laughs as he good naturedly made his way through the “who’s who” and “what’s what” in the world of moto-sports. His high octane humor was so funny---it was too bad one person wasn’t wearing his water proof riding gear. No joke.

Alonzo Bodden

A few lucky folks went home with super-charged door prizes from Yuasa.

My husband is an Iraq veteran and I haven’t seen him laugh this hard since he’s come home. Thanks! Sharon Riggs, Lancaster PA 22

Rodeo & BBQ The Wednesday tradition at Painted Pony is always a crowd pleaser. It was a short ride from Lake George where hundreds of cow-pokes & their gals showed up ready to put on the feed bag with a dee-licious Texas BBQ including smoked pork & BBQ chicken with all the fixin’s & dessert to boot. When the chow-wagon closed up, the crowd moseyed over to the corral’s covered stadium seating to watch Bull Ridin’, Bronc Bustin’ & Steer Ropin’ by professional cowboys & cowgirls competing on a pro-circuit for points & a big $ purse. The boys from Cycle Solutions were on hand to award 100s of dollars in great door prizes. The night didn’t come to a close until the cows came home.

3-Course Dinners The White Lion Room at FWH was the setting for 2 fabulous evenings of food, fun & friends. The delicious meal included NY Sirloin, Chicken Marsala, and Baked Salmon...Yumm! Wednesday was hosted by Christa Neuhauser & the folks at RoadRUNNER Magazine. After dinner, guests were invited to the Tankard Taverne to socialize & enjoy the ambience while overlooking the lake. Thursday evening boasted Dinner & a Show. After enjoying their meal, folks ambled over to Towers Hall for a VERY funny comedy show---with VIP seating!

TourExpo at the Beach

TourExpo....one stop shopping for all your motorcycle needs. Starting bright and early Saturday morning, TourExpo at the Beach opened early--with hundreds of vendors ready for business. Folks coming in for the week started shopping early so they wouldn’t miss a thing. Pre-registered Americaders took advantage of 3 more free days of shopping by simply showing their registration confirmation at the gate. For others...early opening was a great opportunity to cruise up for the day and check out all the merchandise, get the pick of inventory, and not have to wait until the end of the work week. That was a heck of a deal! Tuesday morning was opening day for TourExpo at The Forum. All those folks who shopped early at the beach were able to take their time and meander through the aisles, try on shoes & apparel, and pick up accessories for the bike. Between the two venues, and over 200 vendors, eager shoppers found everything they’ve been dreaming of; and some even bought a few things they needed. Free motorcycle parking at Father Jogue’s Park, Kymco Coat & Helmet Check, and air conditioned TourExpo Shuttle Bus that ran throughout the day between The Forum & Beach...made shopping a breeze. Thanks to the folks from the Prospect Child & Family Center for making everything run smoothly! For folks who caught Fashion Show fever on Wednesday night---they were able to find leathers, jackets, Ts, footwear & accessories; try things on, get the right fit, and recreate the looks they loved on stage.

24

www.americade.com

& The Forum

TourExpo was the place to find all the best motorcycle “Must Haves”for customizing your favorite ride --- Pin Striping, Engraving, Chrome, Lighting, Suspension, Tires, and Exhaust vendors were available with the latest and greatest products to install on site. After taking care of everything that can be seen and felt, it was time to check out what needs to be heard...with several Helmet and Communication vendors to choose from the options for installing the best phone/cb/stereo combos were plentiful. Many drove away ready to talk, rock, and roll! When folks needed a break from shopping, the thrilling Globe of Death stunt performers entertained the crowd with their gravity defying show. The “Globe” was conveniently set up next to the Food Court where there were plenty of food vendors available to quench appetites with everything from down-home southern BBQ, to made-to-order deli sandwiches, to popcorn chicken & fries and fresh squeezed lemonade or home-made root beer to wash it all down. With all these goods & services in one place--there was no need to go anywhere else! Just a reminder---if you saw something you liked at TourExpo and didn’t get a chance to pick it up---check out www.americade.com for a listing of all the vendors you saw this year. There may be somebody special who needs a stocking stuffer or something bigger under the tree!

Featured Speakers & Seminars All things motorcycle-day and night. That’s what folks got when stopping in at the Fort William Henry Conference Center for Featured Speakers and Daily Seminars. Tuesday and Thursday evenings were set aside for an inside look at the experiences of three of Americader’s Favorite speakers.

Mark Tuttle

Rider Magazine’s editor, Mark Tuttle, took the audience on a fun-filled ride through time on Tuesday as he colorfully talked about touring tips, wrenching wrecks and his “28 Years Behind Bars.” Thursday evening begun with Lee Parks, author and owner of Total Control & Lee Parks Designs, sharing his unique perspective on making his favorite past-time into a vocation. Folks learned how he got his big break in the magazine business, to what led him to becoming an author, riding instructor, and glove designer & manufacturer. To round out Thursday night, author and columnist Fred Rau entertained the crowd with his greatest hits. Folks were in stitches about his ‘You Might Be A Motorcyclist If...’, ‘The 10 Stupidest Motorcycling Products’, and the ever popular ‘Over Here & Over There’ skits.

Lee Parks

Throughout the week, industry experts and “professional” enthusiasts shared their know-how with those looking to get the most out of every motorcycle experience and purchase. Topics ranged from motorcycle maintenance, hugging the curves without dumping the bike, improving the quality of your ride, picking the right tire for the way you ride, planning your next trip, riding with a group and so much more... Folks certainly had an education by the end of the week!

Field Events Contestants took to the “field” to test skills in balance, speed (or lack thereof), and cooperation. The goal was to have fun---whether running the clock while rolling up the course, working with a partner to come in first, or sitting back to watch the action. By the looks of things everybody was a winner on Thursday at the Field Events!

Fashion Show

Folks in the market for new riding apparel knew where to find the most stylish duds around --at the Americade Fashion Show! Eight manufacturers---Harley-Davidson, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, Victory, Spyder, Star and Yamaha turned out on Wednesday evening with the latest and best fashions in the motorcycling world. Our very own Ameri-models suited up in everything from high tech riding gear and leather jackets, to branded hats, t-shirts & accessories as they strutted down the catwalk in front of a full house. Fred “The Fashionisto” Rau, who knows the “look” is everything, had a lot of fun with the audience, describing the clothes, and finally--having the honor of handing out door prizes. Over $10,000 in door prizes & fashions (some coming straight from the models’ backs) were handed out to the crowd!

Festival of Lights Don’t let the reports of rain fool you--Americaders put on a simply SPECTACULAR display of lights at Fort William Henry on Thursday night. Due to the evening of drizzle and downpour, contestants in the Functional Lighting Contest had an extra challenge to illuminate the roadway. Not to be daunted by a few drops of rain Americaders got the job done---and blew away the professionals (not even Twisted Throttle’s ringer could beat ‘em) in the “Battle of the Bulbs”! After any good storm there comes a rainbow of colors. The Decorative Lighting Parade & Contest dazzled spectators with a full spectrum of colors reflecting off every surface. Light Them Up contributed prizes to the Decorative Lighting Contest winners and a special prize drawing for those participating in the Light Parade.

Friday Night Spectacu Americade’s biggest night of the week was packed with oodles to do and see. Folks enjoyed a funny water show, delicious food, a great band, special awards, spectacular fireworks, and fabulous door prizes inside The Great Escape amusement park. Before dinner Groove Therapy provided entertainment for the big crowd as they got settled for an evening to remember. The all-you-could-eat buffet was served between 6:30-7:45. Chicken Cordon Bleu, Beef Tips, Baked Ziti, rice, vegetables & salad were served up hot & fresh. To round out the meal, folks helped themselves to yummy desserts & coffee. The main park gates opened later at 7:30 pm for Americaders who came in time for Free Dessert & Coffee, Awards, Major Door Prize Drawings & Fireworks. As the party-goers got themselves settled with desserts, coffee & tea under the pavilion, winners of major events & contests from throughout the week were announced, awards were presented and Over $30,000 in goodies were awarded! People’s Choice Judging, an all new feature on Friday night, was open for folks to vote on their favorite bikes! Contestants were chosen from individual judging class winners throughout the week. This time the little ‘un won: Jim Biro of Marblehead, OH won with his custom built 1970 Tom Thumb (see pg 45 for details). In addition to the list of Friday’s Major Door Prize Winners, Scavenger Hunt & AMA Poker Run Winners were awarded special prizes by Scala Rider & AMA, respectively. In a show of EXTREME generosity, the evening sponsor, Tour Master handed out hundreds of dollars in additional prizes to all the contest winners announced that night! The Awards Ceremony concluded with a BANG as the Tour Master Fireworks Display (sync’d to music) lit up the summer skies & rattled windows for miles around! Groove Therapy capped off the evening with more music & dancing for those who didn’t want the party to end!

Sensational Saturday

The prediction of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of Americade’s Early Risers. The Geico Get Up & Go Breakfast at this year’s new, more convenient, location in the private Lake George Forum Lounge had a strong turn-out. There was plenty of time to enjoy french toast, pancakes, eggs, home fries, coffee/tea & more--before heading out for the day’s events. The Dunlop Parade lined up early so those in costume had a chance to be judged. After awards were handed out, folks saddled up and the procession got started with The Red Knights, from chapters across the country, leading the way ---to Sousa Sounds sent out by Americade’s own 98.5 WCKM. The parade route looped it’s way around Lake George Village and headed south to The Wild West Ranch where the party got started. Ameri-paraders arrived at Sena’s Sensational Party to the high flying action of the FMX Stunt Jumper as he performed aerial tricks 30’ over their heads! The aroma of Chicken Teriyaki and Marinated Pork Ribs, coming from the Chuck Wagon BBQ, drew Americaders back to the Cheyenne Arena so folks from the Lake George Rotary could pile plates high with mouthwatering grub. For those who still had room for it, Ben & Jerry’s of Lake George was on hand to scoop up a sweet treat. The Stony Creek Band kept the party going with toe-tappin’ tunes. Folks took to the dance floor to learn line dancing from the experts and have some boot scootin’ fun before the prizes were handed out on stage. The day’s events kept coming...TourExpo at the Beach & The Forum were open for business and a great place to hang out before the Lake George Charity Drawing at FWH. Stay tuned to find out all the Saturday fun we have in store for 2014!

Best of Show First time out of the gate and this iron horse was a winner. Peg Martin (first time Americader) of Townsend, MA won for her Breast Cancer Tribute Bike--- a pink, white & chrome 2008 Harley-Davidson Softail with a custom “Pink Ribbon” seat and a license plate to match. Peg designed her bike with a purpose: to help bring attention to a disease that affects 1 in 8 women. She’s been overwhelmed by the response her motorcycle has received and the folks she’s met because of it. When asked about her win, Peg said she “kept

looking around to see who the winner was and wondered why they weren’t coming forward. There were some absolutely gorgeous bikes in the competition. I was in awe of them all! Oh...and I had forgotten my entry number .”

“I have been privileged to meet some of the friendliest and most helpful people I have ever known. Even when I’m riding alone to a rally, I know that once there I’m part of a large family of kindred spirits.”

People’s Choice Americade’s first ever People’s Choice Award was by invitation only and included winners from individual class judging held throughout the week. Folks at the Friday Night Spectacular were given colored chips to drop in the bucket of their favorite motorcycle on display. Later that evening, chips were counted, scores were tallied and Jim Biro of Marblehead, OH won with his custom built 1970 Tom Thumb. Jim found the original plans from a 50 year old Popular Mechanics magazine and made a few modifications to the materials list---upgrading from electrical conduit to polished stainless steel for the body. After 2.5 years and only $250 investment, this mighty mini started stealing the show at motorcycle events across the northeast. Jim’s already making plans for another showy judging entry for Americade 2014...we can’t wait to see what this clever fella comes up with next! 47

The 2013 Killington Classic moved to its new headquarters - The Foundry at Summit Pond on Killington Rd. The weekend began with the Kick Start Dinner at the Foundry --- great food and a beautiful spot to visit with new and old friends---sponsored by RoadRUNNER. A wonderful way to start a great weekend of riding, eating, and shopping! Vendor Village opened Friday morning at The Foundry --- with a new layout and better than ever, vendors featured leather, accessories, electronics and more--- all in one location. So many things to see and buy. Part of the proceeds went to the Wounded Warrior Project. Friday night’s Grand Parade was led by VT’s Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott and the Rutland Chapter of the Red Knights. Bikes were two abreast for the 12 mile mountain ride to the final destination --- the Rutland Downtown Block Party with live music, beer garden, outdoor dining, and don’t forget the Scavenger Hunt. All participating businesses donated great prizes. The days were filled with cruising over mountains, through valleys and taking in the picturesque views made for some excellent riding.
