Where was your wedding? We got married on September 9th, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church. Our wedding reception was at Three Oaks Winery in Albert Lea following the ceremony! Why did you choose that location? For the ceremony we chose First Presbyterian because of our pastor Dwight Netzer. He made all of my ceremony dreams come true! For the reception, we loved the idea of having it at the winery because it is beautiful out there and at that time, I believe their had only been 1 or 2 other weddings/ receptions there. It’s something different that Albert Lea has to offer! We got very lucky with the most beautiful weather that day too! Did you have a theme for the wedding? There wasn’t a theme I would say, but more so simple, classic, elegance is what I was going for. The guys were in black tuxedo’s with bow ties and the girls in long black dresses accompanied by lots of greenery, chandeliers and draping! We really incorporated so many of our favorite things to tailor it to us, such as having my dad’s old cars to drive from the ceremony to the reception. That’s something I grew up doing with my dad. Or having my brother,
Jordan make Trevor’s wedding band was so special for us. Tell us about the dress. Ahhh, my dress! I am still obsessed with it. Those three words come into play again: simple, classic, elegant. I really wanted something sweet and dainty and just, SO me! Plus, I envisioned Trevor seeing me in this dress and walking down the aisle in it with my dad. It was custom-made to fit me perfectly in India by the designer Flora. I could talk about the dress for days!
Tell us about the flowers. Ok, these were phenomenal! If you don’t already know, Cheryl Overland from Hy-Vee floral is a genius with her arrangements. I described to her what I wanted, and she went above and beyond! It was full of texture with all kinds of different greenery mixed in with some white flowers. A fun piece I added was my mom’s rosary wrapped into the satin where I held the bouquet! T ell us about the cake. We had a “naked” cake where the frosting just barely coats the cake. It was a white cake with raspberry mousse layers! So yummy! We had
Hy-Vee floral add some greenery to dress it up. The cake was also made in town by Sugar Chic! Fun little bit: we just got it out of the freezer to eat on our one-year anniversary, and it was still good! What was your favorite detail? How can I choose?! EVERYTHING! It was all so perfect, I can’t choose one thing. I will say a fun detail though–we had Bruno’s corn dogs after dinner, for a late snack and it went over really well! We’re definitely not the only ones who love Bruno’s! hat were you most nervous about? W I would say just everything running smoothly. All the preparation and planning, working! It’s like throwing a big party so we wanted everyone
to enjoy it and have a fabulous night with us. I was also definitely nervous/ anxious walking down the aisle. I didn’t know if I would be a mess or if my dad would even make it the whole way down! We made it though!
What was your most memorable moment? Marrying my husband under God! It’s as simple as that. Best day of our lives!
